It's been quite a while since I've been blown away by crazy fantastic customer service, but Brady at Mount Everest in Ridgewood managed to exceed fantastic! We had come in to check if my daughter's skis and boots were still good for her, as she's grown since we purchased them from Mount Everest a couple of years ago. Brady asked some questions and examined the skis and determined they were fine and didn't need a tune-up. Then he had her try on her boots, advised her to break them in before using them, and offered to help break them in by molding them to her feet if we had time. He then heated up the boots, had her put on a toe cap and stood her on the apparatus where her feet were in ski position, accelerating the break-in process for the boots. He was friendly, informative, and knowledgeable, and we walked away incredibly thankful and happy! Read moreAvoid this place. We spent over $1k last snow season and referred two friends here to purchase other equipment. We came back today to get two more snowboard boots. The old gentleman servicing us was nasty and rude. He told us not to waste his time if we were not purchasing snow socks along with the boots. He didn’t even try to help my wife put on her new boots which were difficult to get into. He showed absolutely no patience and, sitting there, it was clear he was not ready to help. We ended up going to another store in Westwood which had much better customer service. We later found out that both of these places are owned by the same owner. We are very disappointed with how unprofessional the employee in Ridgewood was. We won’t be coming back; they just...

It's not on the customer to pay a premium for the store not having enough equipment. If you're willing to open new equipment to use as a rental, then charge the same price as you would had it been available. OTHERWISE, say that rentals are SOLD OUT. It's only fair that all customers pay the same rental fee, regardless of the equipment being new or not. The point of running a small business is to have us coming back, knowing that everyone is paying for the same service. Otherwise, we'll just go...
