Was disappointed. First of all, I booked online for last week and got a call that they had to change the day of my appointment, so they changed it to today. No problem, but they didnāt really apologize or offer anything to make up for the scheduling issue.
Then today, I get there and the salon doors are locked (thereās multiple salons inside the main salon). I had shown up 20 minutes early. So I wait a few minutes to see if someone will come open it or someone leaving will open it. Itās cold and raining out. So eventually I called and said Iām waiting outside. The girl over the phone didnāt know which location I was calling for but said she would text them that I was here. 10 more minutes go by and no one opened the door. I was soaking wet and cold at this point. I had to call a second time and finally, someone opened the door. I thought maybe they were finishing up a different client and thatās why, but no body walked out or was leaving as I arrived. So I think I stool out in the rain for 20 min bc of poor communication.
I really had to pee but now I was late to the appointment so I sucked it up. The camera to show your scalp was cool. The girl who did my service didnāt speak a lot of English though so it was hard to communicate concerns/understand her recommendations for products etc.
For the treatment itself, it was nice but nothing to write home about or spend $200 on. I did the ālava remedyā and the products used felt nice and tingly, but she neglected the bottom/underneath of my scalp almost completely, which sucked. The front/top of my head was scrubbed good and got a lot of products but barely anything on the back/underneath. The āneck and shoulder massageā was more just her rubbing lotion on my arms, which was disappointing. I was looking forward to getting my neck and shoulders massaged but she barely touched them. I was cold for each part unless the hot water was running over my head. At the end, the water was cold too.
At one point, there was like steam with mint essential oils or something and she turned my head towards it and it stung my nose and throat to breathe it in from such a close distance.
Wasnāt really relaxing. And I think she was trying to be nice by blow drying my hair a little at the end (apparently itās a $50 add on for a blow out I just looked it up) but leaving with a 50% wet head isnāt much better than leaving with 100% wet hair.
Overall, I spent $205 on the treatment and $41 on tip (20%) but it wasnāt worth it imo. Iād rather spend $246 for an hour of something else. I think it has potential to be amazing, but needs more thoughtfulness put into it. I shouldnāt be out in the rain, not able to pee, cold, and feeling like I got half my scalp cleaned and lotion rubbed on me instead of a massage for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI recently had the privilege of experiencing a VIP tour of the Lava Head Spa before it opened to the public. Having heard glowing reviews from their Miami location, I had high expectationsāand this new spa did not disappoint. Nestled inside a chic, luxury building called Salons by JC, the spa is surrounded by a vibrant community of salon owners. The friendly Manager June at the front desk added to the welcoming atmosphere. The transformation of the former GAP store into this opulent beauty department store is nothing short of magical!
The Lava Head Spa is tucked away towards the rear of the building, offering a sense of privacy and tranquility. The suites are impeccably decorated, with high ceilings and exposed ductwork adding to the elegant, industrial-chic vibe. Every detail has been thoughtfully considered, right down to the adorable light fixtures. And let's not forget the incredible staff, who go above and beyond to ensure a luxurious experience.
With such a stunning setup, it's easy to see how this little gem of a spa will thrive as the warmer months approach. I'm confident that it will quickly become a must-visit destination for those seeking relaxation and rejuvenation.
I can't wait to see how successful this luxurious haven will be this spring...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was one of the best services Iāve had done. The experience with Melisa at LAVA Head Spa was exceptional. From the moment of arrival, the ambiance was very relaxing, calming, and inviting. Melisa took initial photos and explained to me what we were looking at before getting started with the treatment. She made an effort in understanding my concerns and any issues I was having that she could address. She is very educational and skilled in her craft. She talked to me about why certain symptoms happen, how there will be a change in my scalp after the treatment, and which products can be used for scalp care, based on what I experience. The service was intricate and meticulous. After the service, she took after photos and discussed them with me. Melisa talked to me about a personalized/suggested timeline of when to return and what would be best for me. She also answered my questions about what services would be best for my husband and both of us together. Melisa is a very hard worker and prioritizes the clientās satisfaction with the service. I will be returning for my scalp care. Iām so happy that I found Melisa and LAVA Head Spa. Sheās one of the best people Iāve met in...
