Been a student here for 6 + years; absolutely love the place. Kathy is such a kind, supportive & creative teacher. Name it, she can help you make it. I built a castle out of clay here, took a bit of time but we got there; it was amazing. Lots of room to work with an incredible selection of wheels, templates, forms and glazes. Kathy has many clay tools that she has on hand to help you finish your piece, most studios don’t offer that. Kathy keeps up on the latest glazes & keeps them in stock for students to use. Pottery is complex, you need to understand how clay and glazes work, Kathy’s long years of experience are so important when making your final product, if you’re unhappy with your final product, you weren’t listening to her because she is as nurturing as they get. Been to other places where the space was limited with teachers who are absorbed in their own work, where they make you bring your own tools, where you never learn the fine-tuning skills necessary for a good product. I love Mudspinners, I’ve become a better potter...

If you've ever wanted to take a pottery class, try a new skill, or simply just take a moment for yourself to relax then this is the place for you! I have always wanted to take a pottery class and my husband surprised me with a private lesson for my birthday. From start to finish Kathy was extremely welcoming, kind, and funny. She was very patient with us and wanted to make sure we were not only having fun, but also learning during the process as well, and she is an amazing teacher (coming from someone who used to teach). We are so proud of everything we made and can't wait to go back to finish our work. If you are considering taking a class or just trying out pottery in general, you will not be disappointed coming here and may even find your next new hobby or passion! Thank you...

I took a 6-week wheel throwing class and enjoyed it very much. Kathy is an excellent teacher and helped me to center and pull the clay. She breaks down each step so that it is easy to understand. I also learned how to use tools for shaping the clay into a bowl, which made it faster to throw bowls on a wheel. I liked experimenting with the glazes she has in her studio (see photos). Kathy has created a peaceful and friendly environment for making pottery. This studio is primarily for adult wheel-throwing and hand building classes as well as small group events. I highly recommend taking classes here!

The studio is located right next to the Mavis Discount Tire store, on the second floor of a building that also has a barre class. There is plenty of...

My wife made a bowl here recently and painted it green. After being fired, the bowl turned out brown. We called to ask how this could have happened, and the owner insisted that my wife had mixed the colors. Everyone she went with also had their green patches turn brown. The photos clearly show the before and after colors. My biggest complaint is that the owner insisted it was the group's lack of competency instead of owning up to the issue. The group did everything according to the owner's instruction, and she also offered no warning that the green would change colors. Plenty of good pottery studios in the area. Would not recommend this one.
