Hair Philosophy — Local services in Ridley Township

I don’t got to salons too often since actually like my curls but came here because it was close to work and I didn’t feel like doing my own hair. Only giving 2 starts bc the staff is friendly, they have good customer service and I appreciate they took me in last minute but if your hair is on the coarse side, this might not be the place for you. I got charged $95, which is twice as much as I would normally pay for a blowout and some curls at a Dominican salon, the hair “wash” was terrible, they didn’t scrub my scalp and left all the buildup in it, they detangled my hair with no conditioner thinking a spray detangler was good enough (which is something nobody in my 25 years has ever done and is kind of a crime for my hair type) making them struggle with pulling, causing breakage on my hair and pain on my scalp despite their efforts to not pull it hard, on top of that my hair came out puffy and wavy on the roots. I knew I was gonna have to fix it myself as soon as I left because the heat was too little for a thick hair like mine. Their work has nothing to do with the work I’m used to from other places. I have been picky with hair salons in the past because honestly, I would pick one and then they would either close permanently or change their locations which was an inconvenience to me. I've been to Hair Philosophy twice now and Brianna is a queen!! Her talent is amazing beyond anything I have ever seen before. She sits there with you and listens to your questions, comments, concerns, and she helps you out when you, yourself, don't know the lingo of hair salon words. HAHA. She has always recommended for me the best ways to not only, cut, color, and style my hair, but also how to treat it if its a little damaged. Also, the way the staff treats you so nicely and brings you into their own little family is something that was needed at my first ever appointment with everything going on in my life outside of getting my hair done. Because of that, I wanted to thank not just Bri, but the entire staff. Thank you guys!! ❤ ❤ BUT Bri, you're an absolute gem! ❤ ❤ THANK YOU for my beautiful hair!! I cannot wait for future appointments!

P.S. the place is so cute! Clean, neat, and organized! It may not look like it, but they have an upstairs area where they do eyebrow waxing and I am sure...

I moved to this area four years ago but kept visiting my hairdresser in Newark, DE. Eventually, I decided it was time to find someone closer since I'm a bit particular about my hair. I couldn't have asked for a better experience! I am beyond impressed with my experience today at this salon. My stylist, Jamie, was incredibly attentive and asked lots of questions about what I wanted. I wasn't quite sure on what direction I wanted to go with my hair in terms of color, but Jamie somehow did the impossible anyway and completely read my mind. This appears to be her gift as other reviewers have said the same thing about her previously. The transformation she made with the balayage, money piece highlights, and cut is just amazing. While I was there, I saw four other women come into the salon and noticed each and every one of them had gorgeous hair when they left. The salon also has such a warm atmosphere with wonderful staff; I enjoyed observing their comradery. The before-and-after photos really highlight how awesome the talent at this salon is!
