I have lived here for close to 3 years, and whenever you have a problem, you are basically on your own. the office manager/maintenance manager is no help at all. I have a problem with a tenant that lives above me that is a chain smoker. We share plumbing and so all the smoke has been streaming into my apartment since December 2023 and to date nothing has been done about it. I don't smoke and I am forced to inhale the 2nd hand smoke from 2 people. Additionally, my apartment smells like a big dirty filthy ash tray, all of my leather furniture, carpeting, curtains, clothing, & comforters are filled with smoke. I also live over a laundry room and people are in the laundry room from 5am throughout the day all the way until 3am daily, so I hear the machines, the door to the laundry room constantly slamming and the machine lids constantly slamming because the lock on the door stays broken so anyone can enter at any time. They also smoke in the laundry room. The the Maintenance/ Office Manager/ Super and Asst. came to my apartment to assess the smoke smell & they claimed that they didn't smell anything, how convenient. If you need help getting anything resolved you will need to call the state, the police, Fire dept etc. because you are on your own. To date nothing has been done and I have written to corporate, and they have that the matter is in process. I guess in process of killing me with the 2nd hand smoke. In our supposedly smoke free building, so yes it is in process, that is the truth. To date nothing has been done. Before this incident we had a man that went dumpster diving that would drag garbage out of the dumpster and line it all up in the hallways and against the back of our building. He also has spiritual awakenings and would walk around all night with work boots on with no carpeting on the second floor where carpeting is required. After 8 months of complaining about the noise the office finally got him and the current people to get carpeting. They can care less about what you are going through. Pay your Rent and pay it on time that is all they are concerned with. This place is being run like a low-class ghetto. Additionally the last two months Industrial strength bleach and ammonia strong fumes have been coming through the areas of all the radiators. These fumes are extremely hazardous to anyone's health. However like the cigarette smoke the office/ maintenance manager could not smell the strong chemicals that burn your nose eyes, and throat. Mac Properties is aware and so are other officials. The plumbing is connected here so whatever is sprayed into or near the radiators from one apartment immediately will flow into the adjoining neighbors immediately. In this case my apartment is the one connected. It is very hard to keep fumes out. I have had witnesses come and smell and pinpoint the source of the fumes, they all agree that the fumes are coming from all the radiator areas. Unbelievable Right? Oh! but, you better believe it!!!! Updated 7/7/2024 Nothing was ever done to resolve my issues and therefore I had no choice but to move out on July 30th. Everyone was aware of the situation. Last...
Read moreRoaches!! Cockroach infestation! This is my first time ever writing a review. I’m not one to leave bad reviews, however my experience dealing with roaches has been horrible here.
We send a maitnence request every month. Every time they send an exterminator, but the cockroaches always return. Also, let me make this very clear, my boyfriend and I are very clean people, and we’ve only been living here for 5 months. This time it is a bit different, we are now finding baby cockroaches-the past 2 days we saw 3!! We put a manager request in this time because clearly the exterminator isn’t keeping them away, for good!! A day later we see that the case was closed. Luckily, we got in touch with a wonderful man named, River, and he said he would open the case back up. We are all confused to why the case was closed with nothing being done or said about the request. When a tenant is very scared about the cockroaches that keep appearing in her apartment, closing out the case without doing anything or saying anything about it , is cruel! It took 5 months of us having to constantly report this issue for management to finally get an exterminator to do a full unit clean out, 5 whole months!!! I guess sending them a picture of a baby cockroach made them take this issue more urgent. Nancy kept telling me that no one else was reporting having cockroaches, however, a few tenants in our unit told us they saw them too, in the hallways and in their apartment. All we wanted to do was move to a different unit, that was not above the maintenance office/ storage unit and boiler room, (because they are clearly coming from that area, because it is a mess down there).. don’t move here, it’s a cockroach mess, and management doesn’t care about your needs or mental health. If you are terrified of cockroaches definitely don’t move here. Do yourself a favor look elsewhere. We’ve been nothing but patient and understanding with you management, but you...
Read moreAs a tenant with my partner at River Terrace Gardens, I’ve witnessed firsthand the incredible transformation this property has undergone under the leadership of Andrew Pallotto. Since Andrew stepped in as property and maintenance manager, the improvements have been nothing short of remarkable.
The property is consistently well-maintained from freshly cut grass and well-trimmed trees to clean roads and common areas. The ongoing remodeling and upgrades have given the entire community a fresh, modern look that was long overdue.
While NOT all aspects of management always feel as honest, responsive or consistent, Andrew brings a level of reliability and professionalism that stands out. His commitment to the property and to the residents is truly appreciated, and it's had a positive impact.
Thank you, Andrew, for your dedication and hard work, it has made a real difference for all of us who call River Terrace...
