Newly remodeled store that looks nice. The store is well maintained and clean. Although, I don't think the shelving locations make sense for quite a few products.
Staff are generally more friendly and a lot more helpful than Wal-mart. If I ask an associate where something is located, they stop and take me to it. Wal-mart associates almost never do that.
The edited assortment can be a pain at times when they don't have things I think are fairly basic, but that's the trade-off for lower prices. We shop here and Wal-mart for most of our groceries.
I'd suggest skipping this store when it comes to produce. They need to do a better job of culling. It seems they'd rather leave that pint of obviously molded strawberries out there (hoping someone will buy it?) instead of throwing it out. Unfortunately mold begets more mold. Generally speaking, the produce quality is questionable. If you are going to use it immediately, you can save money buying it here, but look it over really well. If you want to use it in a few days, buy it elsewhere or wait until that day. Produce we've purchased at Aldi seems to be on its last leg. The produce prices used to be much better to make up for the short shelf-life and excessive scrutiny required in selection, but now not so much. They have a good price on some items now and then, but not consistently great like it used to be.
Overall: skip most of the produce, but meat, dairy and center-store are good values. Good customer service, clean, and has a...
Read moreI was shopping with my wife on 2 instacart orders she had, 2 separate carts, it was on a Saturday afternoon, very busy. We were almost finished, with many items in both carts. Her phone battery was starting to die, so she went out to car to chage it so we could checkout the carts. I was to finish getting last few items. I tried manipulating the 2 carts through the crowd to retrieve these items and with a lot of bumping I got all but 1. I pushed the carts up by registers, by wall of restrooms out of the way of others, and turned to run over by produce to grab the last item, a jar of pickles. Took about 2 minutes, hard to find item for me. I came back over where I left the carts, and no where to be found!!! I immediately asked a store clerk, who said don't leave your cart unattended, and gave me a mean look. WTH, I grabbed a jar of pickles? She radioed someone who said she had taken the carts to back as they were unattended for 3o minutes, ahh, NO!! SHE DID BRING THEM BACK, no apology, no nothing but ran away, when I told what I did, 2 minutes! Some items were missing, some mixed up in both carts. My wife came back in and sorted the carts out. But this is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen, I understand sometimes people get up to front and it's busy, so they just push their cart away and leave, but 2 minutes, 2 carts, and busy!! ...
Read moreI love, love, love ALDI. BUT...for almost two months now, they have been out of Friendly Farms lowfat cottage cheese (only carrying the 4% which I do not want, forcing me to buy at other grocery stores.) Employees have not been helpful ("we just get what they send us on trucks and have no control over inventory.") I am referring to the Crystal City (MO) location, where I normally shop. I have checked stores in both Farmington and Arnold (MO), and they have the stuff. I have contacted corporate (twice), and they only replied once after "opening tickets" on the issue, but have never resolved or provided any explanation whatsoever. They have sold the lowfat version for YEARS! Also, the lowfat cottage cheese no longer shows as an "out of stock" item at that store---it has been totally wiped from the Instacart website for that store. What is going on with the...
