I had a very bad experience in that store, I went shopping and went to the section of fruit and veggies and I grabbed a package of strawberries and they were moldy, I grabbed my strawberries and I grabbed a bag and I started to remove the bad strawberries with mold and I put them in a little box that there were bad strawberries, the worker here a man approached, tall with glasses and half chubby, and he yelled at me are you going to take the strawberries and I said yes and he then told me what are you doing and I told him taking away the bad ones, and he told me which ones are bad and I told him these! and yelled at me, you're disgusting! my face was what did I just say? he turned around and went back, he came back and he was looking at me with a bad attitude when the only thing I did was take the bad ones out of my package of strawberries, I think he treated me that badly because I'm Hispanic, The truth is that I felt very bad, I felt a knot in my chest when he yelled at me that I was disgusting, I would never go back, I do not...

Helpful staff that actually enjoy their job and want to be there; produce, meat, bakery, and fish departments, just like you would expect; and a clean, organised layout.

Head to the front for check-out, and see cashiers that DO care, and enjoy talking with the customers, and treat you like you're part of the family, which is the way everyone at Riverside Foods is treated.

You'll never see an unhappy person working for Riverside Foods, and you don't see unhappy customers, because Riverside Foods perpetuates the idea that you're part of their extended family; something you don't see at Jewel-Osco (Albertsons).

I love this store. Independently owned, easy parking, small footprint but they somehow still manage to have everything you need including many speciality items. I really appreciate that they offer half loaves of fresh bread and smaller quantities of fresh meat. The quality is wonderful and their prices are extremely reasonable. The cashiers seem to know many customers by name. It’s such a stark comparison to battling it out at the local Jewel or Tony’s with their crazy parking lots, long lines and where everything seems to be sold in bulk.
