Horrible experience! Let me just put it this way, they ruined a very important day, my proposal!!! It took about 2 weeks to finally get a call that my Diamond had arrived but not my band. After 3 weeks from my order and several calls, we decided to go in to check up on my band status. Thats when we were told that their Manager (who took care of us and placed the order) had walked out on them and never returned. Hummmm I wonder why? We were told that according to her she had placed the wrong order and she had correct it, I asked if they were sure it was the correct order and the woman told me yes, I place it. She tired to make me feel better by showing us the Diamond which looked a little smaller but I figured it was because it was not attached to the band which had diamonds on the band and a halo where my Diamond would be placed on the band. Finally, after another week which is now a month that it was placed ,we get a call that the band arrived and it will take a few days for the ring to be ready . After a few days the ring is finally ready. My fiancé rushed to pick it up with our toddler. He wanted to propose when I arrived from work, which he did. He was on one knee and popped the question. But as I looked in the box I realized that the ring was the wrong one. I started to cry! And told my fiancé ,This is not my ring. The Diamonds on the band were MISSING it looked very different and very cheap. The Diamond looked smaller too. That’s when we rush to get an explanation, and instead the same woman who told me that she had corrected our order was very rude and changed her story about her placing the correct order ,as we showed her the correct ring she kept telling us that she had nothing to do with it and at this point they could do anything because they still had no manager. My fiancé wanted a refund and they made us wait until the new manager was in the store. Which was 2 days later. They didn’t even try to correct the mistake they made. My fiancé is very calm but I’m not. I let them have it. I was just glad he got his refund. After that experience we decided to go to KAY jewelers, what a difference and experience. I wanted to share a story about Freia-Liv Parker with Rogers & Hollands in North Riverside, IL. She went beyond the call of duty to make a difference! I phone Freia and informed her that my husband accidentally broke one of our friend's earrings. Our friend stated that she had just purchased them for her birthday and that she didn't think that they would repair them. I told her to let us know how much it would cost to replace, and she declined, saying, "it was an accident, no worries." But I felt in my spirit that they might replace them. I couldn't rest, so I called R&H, and Freia answered, and I explained what happened, and she said to bring them in, and she would take a look at them to see what she could do. Our friend returned the earrings, and they ended up granting her a one-time courtesy replacement since she was a frequent customer. I was so happy to hear that, and I could hear the excitement in her voice as she told me what they did. As a result of that, I stopped by R&H and took Freia a bag of chocolate hearts & a card to let her know how much we appreciate what she did. I told her that people will often write to complaint but we seldom write about the good that people do, and I just wanted her to feel what we felt when we heard what she did for our friend birthday earrings. Freia was so surprised when I gave her the gift! She said, "You made my day!" And that's exactly what I wanted her to feel, special! Thanks again, Freia-Liv Parker!
