NEW EDIT: Hey so it's actually gotten worse!!

My original post had a focus on an inability to stock paper towels. Now, in addition to the paper towel stations frequently going unstocked, despite multiple staff being present....they have gotten rid of some paper towel stations. The primary, most accessible, most often used one in the middle of the gym...it is gone. Used to hold 2 paper towel rolls + 2 sprays. Now, there is 1 at the VERY FAR END of the right side of the gym on the wall. And there is 1 at the VERY FAR END of the left side of the gym. The middle one was The Most Important one, and now it is gone. Literally nobody cleans their machines anymore. Why would management choose to cut down on stations? They should've added at least two more, not taken away the most accessible one. Additionally, in the personal training room with all the mirrors, they have removed all the good equipment. The equipment that was previously in there was excellent and in good condition. They have now replaced all of that equipment, from bars to weights to stacks....with Much Older, VERY clearly used and dated equipment that looks like they pulled it out of a storeroom from 2009. The equipment feels and looks cheap, the stacks slide around, 50% of the clips are loose, it's all very scuffed and gross/dusty. Furthermore, the equipment that was in there before could go up to 16.5/1 individual weight, and now the max is 10lbs/1 individual weight. Why get rid of much higher quality equipment for older, cheap equipment that is very clearly WELL-used????

As far as management....they respond to all bad reviews lately with "go cOntAct us" & "wE arE worKing to bE cleAner"....bruh. nothing changes. it just gets worse. do your job. Go to costco. Buy a thing of paper towels. Put on little table in middle. You're done. You're now 50% back to the quality you were at during my original post.

ORIGINAL POST: As someone who used to work at a gym....they need better management, spend your money elsewhere. I've been attending this gym for several years. I pay just shy of 250$ yearly to go here. This summer has driven me to make these complaints and advise others to choose other options. MACHINES ALWAYS BROKEN -- and never fixed. Meaning, half of the stairmasters have been down for at least two weeks, less than half have been down for over a month. Several of the treadmills remain broken for over 2 weeks as well. CONSISTENT FAILURE TO RESTOCK PAPER TOWELS / SPRAY -- The employees are very nice and I've never had an issue with them. However, somehow, despite the fact that there are only 3-4 paper towel stations in the entire gym, usually half or more of them are always empty. It is NOT difficult for an employee to check in on them every half hour or hour, and it is perhaps a 2 minute max task per station. I usually come around 5-7pm, which is peak business, and find that there is usually around 2-3 staff talking at the front, and a few at the little desks. Despite the time the staff seem to have, and the quantity of staff -- things are never stocked.

Listen, if you're going to shell out $250 for a subscription, go elsewhere. The gym has many exercise options and decent amenities. They always, even during super busy hours, seem to have many staff just chilling at the front doing nothing. It is not hard to restock or call in a machine repair request. There are SO many people there, all with these $$$ memberships, and yet the bare minimum of customer service BESIDES MARKETING FITNESS PLANS, aka minor restocking...does not happen. Go to LA fitness. At least they'll have paper towels in the women's bathroom, something this...

12/13/24 UPDATE FROM REVIEW 2 MONTHS AGO

I was really hoping this place would get better, but not much has changed. The men’s locker room, bathroom, and showers are still completely disgusting. They are not cleaned regularly or at all. The men’s locker room is still gross and they for sure don’t clean the inside of the lockers. The same clothes, trash, stains, and gunk can be seen in some of these lockers for days/weeks at a time. The showers are still absolutely gross, smell like sewage, trash, bandaids, s**t, and black mold can be seen at any given time. Trash around the machines has gotten a little bit better, but that’s not saying much. Machines are still broken for long periods of time, missing rubber or padding, missing handles, broke and worn down seats. Keeping things in stock like paper towels, cleaning spray, and toilet paper are still an issue. Also, they say they have towel service but I have never received a towel. Every time I go, there is a giant basket of dirty towels, but I have never seen a clean one, ever. As I said before, I get it… Most dudes are gross, don’t care about stuff that isn’t theirs, and this place gets a lot of unhoused people. None of that is the fault of the staff or facility. But they really need to be doing more for the amount they charge and the amount of people that use this gym. Speaking of which, I just got an email today saying my monthly membership pricing is going up again!!! They said due to inflation!! What inflation? They certainly aren’t inflating new equipment or cleaning staff. So where is this extra cost going?! I am now paying $40 a month for disgusting facilities, broken equipment, and I can’t even bring anyone on a friend’s pass. As soon as the new planet fitness opens in riverside, I will be canceling my 24 membership and going there.

OLD REVIEW This place really needs new management or an overhaul. I'll start off by saying that all the encounters with staff have been very good. Most of them are helpful and nice. As far as good things to say about this place, that's about it. Machines are constantly worn out, broken, or out of service for weeks/months at a time, the sauna has been out of service for weeks now, the men's lockers, locker room, and showers are disgusting. Now I know that most dudes are gross and treat that place like crap so I’ll give the facility that much. But even the little things like restocking paper towels, hand sanitizer, soap, and cleaning spray aren't even taken care of. This place also gets extremely packed (with the amount of membership money this place collects, they can afford to do better). The over crowding is not the fault of the staff.. just something to consider with all these other issues at hand. Now I know this place gets a lot of unhoused people or people down on their luck, and I have nothing against that, but the amount of trash, and gross stuff left around the parking lot, the machines, and men's locker room is pretty nasty. Again, I know because of this places location, it attracts a lot of people that don't care about the facility because it's not their property or problem, but management can be doing way more to at least keep the place clean, stocked, and make sure the equipment is getting fixed for the amount of members and membership money they...

I would not add a family member to my membership nor recommend anyone join this 24 Hour Fitness in Riverside. This gym is poorly managed. Today the women’s bathroom smelled like backed up sewer pipes and had hair all over the floor and in the sinks. The Cycle Room which is now a “Cardio Movie Room” is always hot. Today the temperature was 79 degrees in that room. I have been at this gym for over a year now, and I have repeatedly told the front desk about the temperature problem. Their typical answer is, “Yes, we know about that. We are having problems with the AC in there.” For a year now??? When I asked the front desk about changing the temperature, I was told that only the Technician can change the temp, and he wasn’t working at that location today. When I asked to speak to the manager, I was told that she doesn’t come in until 11:00 AM. What? Mornings are one of the two (Before work/after work.) busiest time at the gym. I would call the management here “mismanagement”. Do not join this gym unless you want to be disappointed.

This is a follow up to my previous review: This 24 is trying to improve. I can see it. It's a very slow process, but I do believe they are trying. If you have to choose between 24 in Riverside or 24 in Corona, hands down choose Riverside. Corona is the worst 24 I have ever been in. Riverside has replaced bike seats in the spin room after I repeatedly mentioned 4 out of 5 seats were torn up. It took quite a while, but I finally saw new seats today. The AC in the spin room is still a problem that they can't seem to fix. That is frustrating because that room is stuffy and hot. My previous review is below:

Not as bad as the Corona 24, but this location isn’t stellar either. Staff is friendly buy apparently can’t do anything about the AC in the “spin room”. Every time I am in the spin room the AC box reads 77 or 78 degrees. Not ideal for spinning or running or stair climbing or doing any of the other cardio equipment that they now have in the old spin class room. I have mentioned the temperature at least 3 times, and the response I usually am given is, “I’ll definitely look into that.” Apparently looking into it means simply confirming that I am correct because the temperature hasn’t changed in...
