I do not even know where to start with this store. I have been a customer of Home Depot for years and have ran hundreds of thousands through their pro services, but I will no longer be doing business with Home Depot.
I will share my most recent experiences and hope this message is seen by someone who can really make a difference.
I ordered about 5000 dollars worth of material to re roof a historical house located in downtown Riverside. The ordering process was very long and took nearly an hour to get through it. This job, specifically, was very time sensitive and required my complete attention. Knowing that this was a time sensitive project, i ordered the materials 5 days before the project was set to begin. This was on a Wednesday. The management told me that my order would be ready for pickup at 8pm. I left and went to another job while i was waiting. I called the store at 8pm and asked if my order was ready for pickup and the staff confirmed that my order was palatalized and ready to go. I told them that i would pick the order up the following morning at 6am. I arrived the next morning at a quarter to 6am and waited until they opened the doors. I had my entire crew ready to load materials onto the trailer and head to the job-site to get materials packed in and to begin the demolition of the existing roof. When i went inside and inquired about my order they informed me that not a single item had even been picked out yet. I waited in the store until 12pm to finally get my order loaded.... Come to find out they did not have even half of the flashing i had initially ordered and told me that my only option was a refund. I quickly demanded to speak to a manager regarding the remark, appalled that Pro Services would respond to their lack of service with an ultimatum like this. Then to my disbelief the manager said that it was not his job to understand the logistics of products or the stock availability, that it was MY job to look into other stores and coordinate with them............. Obviously this store does not follow the amazing perfect equation system policy that made Home Depot so very successful.
After waiting 3 days and many calls they finally had my order ready.... or so they said. When i showed up they were still missing valley flashing and did not have the other half of the shingles i ordered and took it upon themselves to refund my account and disregard the missing materials completely, without notice. enraged i demanded to speak to a manager again. This was a completely different person and informed me that this was normal procedure, to which i explained that i am a GC from out of state and have never experienced such poor service before. The only response i got after that was "We are really sorry for your inconvenience sir"........ After standing my crew up an additional 3 days after another week had gone by i finally finished the job. I failed to meet the deadline and lost 10,000 dollars. I then called Home Depot and escalated the issue to get a case number..... THEIR SOLUTION? 200 dollar refund to the account and closed my case.
Another one of my clients had ordered 1300 sq ft of tile before i had even started this job and the store literally blew her off for weeks telling her that they would get back to her every time she called. Her empathetic disposition gave the employees at this store every reason to not do their jobs. They never got back to her. We are still waiting to find out what the status is 3 weeks after the order, calling every day. The only thing they ever say is that we can schedule it for tomorrow and then they never show up. EVERY DAY. The entire store needs to be shut down and internally restructured. Home Depot is an amazing store. But this management is a complete disgrace to everything it stands for.
I am removing my account. This is worst customer service experience i have ever had dealing with a supplier as a company.
Too bad Home Depot is too big to notice the crushing damage this management team just did to my business.
THIS STORE DOESN'T EVEN DESERVE...

But far more important than all the above The Home Depot on Madison in Riverside REALLY TRIES TO GET TO KNOW YOU THE DO IT YOURSELF PERSON AND THAT IS SAYING A LOT because they take the time to listen to what it is you want to accomplish and why and offer advice and assistance in helping succeed in your home project.
Now I have been a regular CUSTOMER SINCE 2002 when my first do it yourself project was a patio for my son's home and from the moment I cut into that 2x8 I was hooked the feel of the saw slicing into the wood I found my passion of building and nothing beats the smell of freshly cut wood filling the air it is exciting and intoxicating.
And do not get me started on BRACKETS because I am like a kid in a candy store I MARVEL AT THEIR USE AND THE UNLIMITED POSSIBILITIES OF PROJECTS YOU CAN CREATE the only limit is your own imagination and fear to try. I can stand there and look at those BRACKETS FOR HOURS imagining what new project I can create.
You can't imagine how simply changing out a basic hollow out door with a 6 raised panel door can TRUELY ADD BEAUTY AND A FRESH LOOK TO AN ENTIRE ROOM with just that one do it yourself project and it is not as difficult as you might think the doors come COMPLETE WITH FRAME AND ALL just remove the old door measure for the new door make any necessary adjustments for size and a SAWSALL should handle that zip quick and slip the door in you may need to use shims to level it a bit and there you have it THE PRIDE OF YOUR DO IT YOURSELF PROJECT now stand back and tell me didn't it improve the look of the room?
You know the one area where nothing will grow or the TREE ROOTS stick out so high out of the ground and that is pretty much wasted yard space WELL NOT ANY MORE THAT IS A PERFECT PLACE FOR A DECK!
And you ask how is that possible The Home Depot on Madison in Riverside has just what you need CEMENT PIERS WITH BRACKETS all ready in place just place them about a foot or two you be the judge out side the tree roots now you are a third way done.
Keep in mind if you want to do as little cutting as possible purchase the 2x8's in the length you want your deck to be and set your CEMENT PIERS WITH BRACKETS the lenght of you 2x8's they will just slip in and now attaching the 2x8's to the BRACKETS with scews OK good job now you are two thirds of the way in completing your DECK.
HERE IS THE EASY PART the placing of the DECK PLANKS again if you wish to avoid cutting PURCHASE THE PLANKS THE LENGTH OF YOUR DECK and hear is the most important thing to remember NEVER NEVER USE NAILS ONLY DECK SCREWS ok your are done and ready to enjoy your DECK.
WHEN YOU TAKE A HAMMER AND PULL A NAIL OUT it is brutal on both the wood and you. WHEREAS a SCREWS GLIDES IN AND WHEN YOU NEED TO REMOVE IT GLIDES OUT AS EASILY AS 1-2-3-. Screws never DAMAGES the wood so you may repurpose any wood that you used screws on for a new PROJECT and no wood is wasted.
TREES their beauty and grace can not be over looked and The Home Depot on Madison in Riverside has a wonderful SELECTION there is nothing that can take the place of walking in your own backyard and picking a fresh ORANGE, APPLE, PEACH OR PLUM OFF your very own tree.
And the other added fact of the ENTIRE STAFF at The Home Depot on Madison in Riverside they always ask me "HOW IS YOUR SON DOING?" and then wait for my RESPONSE IN COMPLETE SINCERITY.

Read moreI ordered some bricks for my patio. Home Depot delivered them a day late. Then when they guy dropped them off I noticed the bricks were the wrong type. I told the guy and he said "call the store and they will send a guy to pick them up and switch them for the right ones". I went right in and called the Riverside Home Depot store and sat on hold for an hour. When someone answered I told them I got the wrong bricks. The woman on the line asked for the order number. I gave it to her and she said "We ordered those from the Fontana store, you'll have to call them". I called the Fontana Home Depot and sat on hold for nearly 2 hours. When I got through the woman said I'll have to check what we can do. I told her I had a guy coming to lay the brick at 7 the next morning and needed the right ones as soon as possible. She put me back on hold for over an hour and them someone picked up and hung up on me. I called back and sat on hold for over another hour. I looked up how much the bricks would cost at all other places. I ended up going down to Home Depot and speaking to the Manager. He helped me get the bricks I needed and two guys came out and got the problem solved. I'm happy to have this issued resolved but I should not have had the problem put on me for the issue created by Home depot. They made the mistake and I ended up having to call the Fontana store to solve the problem. I had to wait for hours and then had to go down to the store and deal with the Manager. I got to the store and saw that nobody answers the phone even when nobody is in the store and nobody is in line. I had to search the store and guess who the Manager was to speak to him. I'm glad things are done but I'm still not going to give a good review...
