The Groves Townhomes — Local services in Riverside

EDIT to add more to my review: I have been a victim of crime twice now living here. First, my mailbox was broken into and mail was stolen. Second, my garage was broken into and my bicycle was stolen. I have also been blocked from driving into the driveway because a person on drugs was naked and standing in the middle of the road. On three separate occasions I have had homeless people camping out right in front of my front door. And all the while my rent price has been increased twice. EDIT May 2024

Now been a victim of crime here 4 times. My parked car was rammed into in the driveway, and of course nobody left a note. And Amazon packages increasingly get stolen from my door.

This is NOT a good neighborhood. The lower management and maintenance here are fantastic. They struck gold with Stephannie and the maintenance team.

The apartments sometimes have minor issues by virtue of this place being built many decades ago, but the value for what you get is pretty good. The positive part of my rating is for the management/maintenance team for being so responsive and pleasant.

However, the owners are very difficult to work with and have actively made my living experience here more difficult and inconvenient. I've been in a months-long battle with them over a very small issue that should have been resolved very simply and cheaply. But the owners have responded to me by ignoring the issue and have even sent threatening legal correspondence to intimidate me into giving up. I very much do not appreciate being responded to by getting stomped on. (EDIT to add: after this review was posted, I finally received a phone call from upper management to try to come to a mutual understanding about this situation, but it was unproductive and they insulted my intelligence which I find offensive).

I cannot be more positive in this rating on account of the upper management, the crimes, the homeless people, and constantly increasing...

The townhomes have been upgraded very nicely. They now include washer and dryer inside. my grandma used to live here before the new remodeling and new manager. And I have to say that these apartments have come up in the area. They include a garage, which I like, for extra storage. My apartment comes with all appliances. It's nice to have a fireplace and good size patio as well. I love all the orange trees! Ive been living here for 2 years with my family now and I really don't have any complaints. Other than, I would like the pool area to be upgraded and maybe add some patio umbrellas for shade. I have asked the manager a couple of times, but I know things need to get approved. The buildings are older, but the manager and maintenance are amazing at responding to any maintenance issues right away. The manager is responsive and professional. Parking is a serious issue at these townhomes. My first night here my car got towed, with the yellow parking permit being displayed. When I picked it up from the towing yard the permit was on the dash but they claimed it was facing down so all they saw was the yellow sign and not the writing on it. I paid $400+. About 2 months later it got towed again for parking it for 10-20 mins while I took my kids to bed, since they fell asleep in the car. Another $300+. A friend of mine had his car towed with the permit on display as well. I understand there are rules regarding parking, however one should feel as if the management is sympathetic to situations that are not negligent. The towing trucks patrols the apartment premises with their lights off before 10pm. They tow vehicles not only when complaints are made by tenants, but also just patrol the area while...
