I have not lived in a apartment for over 25 years until last year in Jan, 2015. I can say that the security gate is broken and open more then it is fixed. The guest parking was always full so I hardly had a place to park and was forced to park on the street 75% of the time until they made new security changes. Dumpster Divers come in here, tenets toss their trash on the ground near the trash can. Kids jump over the fence to use the pool. The staff is not all that friendly. We don't cause problems and for the most part since we live on the end corner in the back it's quiet. However, we tried to negotiate a lower rent went it jumped from $1325 base rent, to $156 dollars more a month. Me and my roommate were not prepared to move out, but for knowing that these people over charge for a TINY apartment we would have planed to move out last December in 2015. We had no choice to stay and pay the increase of $156 more a month. A few days after we singed for another 10 months, I was told by 3 people that they negotiated a lower rent and got it. We gave our notice to move and will be out come November 1st, 2016. It's too much to rent a apartment in a safe area so I'm forced to make an alternative choice to relocate and live with family. Mission Park needs to take in account to tenets that pay on time, don't cause issues and not take advantage from those who have to live in a apartment. This place has a huge turn over, I see people moving out all the time. The reason??? The price that goes up all the time. The cost of my apartment is a HOUSE Payment in this area. It's bloody insane. Don't move here unless you want to be trapped in living and paying for something without benefits. Buy a house if you can.
Why talk to me about the concerns I had living there ? I complained about the security gate never working and it was broke more then it worked. I had aunts in my apartment year round and the issue was never resolved. My rent went up each year . First time $157 And the secount time when we canceled the lease the price was more then $157 ... Apartments are not meant for people to stay living in them forever! And you guys base the rent on market value ! I'm not buying a house but yet the rent you charge is a house payment and you trap people in staying in a apartment making it impossible for them to live and save money to ever buy a home . To add to the experience, the room with gym equipment was always HOT. Air conditioner was never on and kids and teenagers used the room to hang out in and were always rude. Speaking of rude, the office help was rude, never friendly and of no help . Does your staff ever smile? Customer service can make you or brake you . And customers are KING to every business . Mission Grove paints a nice picture , but in reality it's a smoke screen . I'd never recommend anyone...
Read moreI lived in the mission grove park apartments for a total of 18 years. Never had any issues until 2020 when Covid hit. I had a severe case, was taken out of work, permanently due to complications and now having 2 surgeries next week, but I was still paying my rent every month. Until I got sick again, and couldn’t. I spent many sleepless nights and made many phone calls looking for rental assistance. I found a couple places that approved me for the help, and when it got to the landlord, Rose Lee, she denied it. She refused to accept the assistance. She still continued to put notices on my door. I told her I have 8 months of rent paid, in your face, why aren’t your signing your part? She said “we are no longer required to participate in any rental assistance programs” and she evicted me. Here I am, literally homeless. After 18 years, because she didn’t feel like cooperating with my rental assistance. To say I’m devastated would be an understatement. I don’t think they realize what they’ve done to me. And Joseph, from the office, is nothing but an arrogant jerk who accuses you of breaking your garage door, even though I never touched it and provided proof of who did break it and it took him over 2 months to fix the lock on the garage. Resulting in my garage getting broken into many times. After making the third police report, the cop said “come down to the station, get copies of these reports, and sue them” that’s exactly what I’m doing, I had very valuable things in my garage, it shouldn’t have taken 2 months to fix it. I asked Rose for new carpet. The whole time I lived there, the carpet was never replaced. Her response was “it’s not in our budget, but I will get some estimates for you and if you want new carpet you have to pay out of your own pocket” tell me why she was sending me estimates a week before evicting me? Don’t chose this complex if you’re thinking about moving. I’ve never dealt with such heartless people in my life. I could still be there, in my home, in my bed, but because of their greediness, I have lost that. With no where to go, and having surgeries next week. Just don’t live here. You will regret it. Homeless people all around the complex, drug deals around every corner, break ins, and poor management. Take it from someone who lived there 18 years, please go find somewhere else to call home. Read moreWASTE OF TIME!!! Denied me because I didn't have bank statements. You can't force anyone to use a bank! They didn't even ask for any other form of documentation to verify my income. When touring, we asked what documentation was needed to apply and all they said was pay stubs. I get my pay stubs mailed to me so I had to go through leap holes to get those emailed to me from my boss. Their system SNAPPT (fraud detection for tenants) would not allow me to upload the pay stubs whether I scanned them or saved them from the email my boss sent. The website wanted the pay stubs saved directly from the payroll site (WHICH I HAD NO ACCESS TO). I asked them if I can take them in person for them to have and Janelle said to just email the pay stubs to them. After I emailed them, Maribel said they have to upload them in the snappt system no matter what. MIND YOU, they had already called my boss and did the income verification before they even asked for my pay stubs. I had to ask my boss multiple times to try to save my pay stubs a different way for me to finally be able to upload them. After the system finally took them, they took 2 days to get back to me all to tell me they need bank statements. I explained to them that we don't use banks, and we always pay rent through money orders. We could've even provided a w2 form. They said there was nothing else they can do. After they denied us, all of the employees attitudes changed from fake smiles and politeness to rude, especially when asking about getting that holding deposit back. If they were so worried about scammers they should verify with the last place you rented from and check to see if you were late on payments or something. Instead, YALL are the scammers that scammed me out of $100 for the application fee for my boyfriend and I. In one month, I make WELL over the rent payment, and never been late on paying rent. You guys lost out on a great resident for no apparent reason lol. I hope the karma yall get is a new resident that doesn't pay rent. If we knew they absolutely needed bank statements, we wouldn't have even applied. Seems like I dodged a bullet though (thank the LORD). I see other reviews about crimes and bug...
