WATCH OUT. They make money omitting information verbally and then being tricky with the fine print, instead of simply providing an honest service. Some months before renting, I inquired into terms and the manager said if I moved out early, the monthly rent was pro-rated. But on the 5th, when I informed the clerk I was moving out the next day, she said I owed the whole month anyway, that the policy had changed last November (after I spoke to the manager). I was unhappy, but paid the whole month, and moved out. So, the first of the next month rolls around (today, May 1), and they charge me for ANOTHER month. I said that I had paid the final bill and told the clerk I was moving out last month! The girl said "well, you did not fill out the form and turn in the key." When I paid my last rent and said I was moving the next day, the clerk said thank you and goobye, she did not tell me to do anything! I did not even think about the key for the little padlock they provided, which they of course have a key copy for. So the bottom line is, the clerks omit information to trick customers into violating the fine print on the contract, and then nail you. Instead of making an honest dollar provding a service, they make their money tricking you. I have already paid for TWO months I did not use. Robbinsville Storage is provding me with nothing and incurring no costs, just taking my money. A dishonest business, more intersted in a quick buck than equity, fairness, and maintaining good relations. Now they say the are turning me over to collections, as I do not want to pay for May, so this is going to turn into an epic small claims battle. All because they want to charge me the next 30 days on an empty storage unit. It is early AM on May 1, and of course by now I have filled out their forms and given them the key, but to no avail. I wouldn't recommend Robbinsville Storage to anyone. I started renting my unit with them about 7-8 years ago. It's a nice facility, clean, good location off 130. However, the prices have skyrocketed continuously. I was notified of a rent increase over and over again until finally the price was truly astronomical. My unit cost close to over $200 more than comparable units in nearby Hamilton and Trenton and $50+ dollars a month more than comparable units in Princeton. Absurd. On top of this, on 2 separate occasions I had given them my credit card for them to put it in their system and charge rent monthly. The woman on the phone apparently didn't update it like she said she was doing on the phone because then I was charged late fees. This was 2 months in a row - I had to pay the late fee despite the fact that I was on autopay at the time and she for some reason didn't put the card in. I no longer needed the unit enough to justify this price so I moved out a few months ago. The experience was fine. Man in the office very polite and kind. However, when I started renting the contract said it would be prorated - when I called to ask a few months ago she said no rent is not prorated based on the day you move out.
