EDIT: The owner's response has been edited multiple times, each version becoming more outrageous. His claims of my cat being dangerous and out of control only began when I confronted him about the neglect my cat experienced in his care and have become increasingly more concerning following my review. He's clearly being vindictive, determined to turn my cat into a monster and me an entitled cat owner. Anyways, enjoy the attached screenshots and memes.
ORIGINAL POST: If your cat is anxious or reactive in new environments, I do not recommend The Feline Hotel. Before booking, I toured the facility and thoroughly explained my cat’s behavior and stressors, and the need for a private suite to minimize stress. The owner, John, assured me he was experienced with all types of cats and convinced me a “condo” setup would be fine, promising to move her to a suite if she wasn’t doing well.
During my trip, I received minimal communication despite being told I’d get regular updates. When I did finally hear back, I was told my cat wasn’t eating and that she was aggressive and may need to be picked up early. It was the last day of my trip and my plane would be landing close to 1am. John allowed me to pick her up after I landed, arriving around 2am. Her condo was filthy and she was in obvious distress. Once home, I discovered she had feces matted to her legs and bottom causing her pain, and I had to shave and bathe her immediately.
I emailed John privately, hoping for empathy or accountability but instead received a defensive reply that blamed my cat and even included a threat if I left a bad review.
I understand that caring for anxious cats can be challenging but it takes patience and professionalism, qualities I did not experience at The Feline Hotel. His replies to criticism alone should...
Read moreI brought my two cats to this feline hotel for grooming, and both contracted ringworm shortly afterward. After just checking the reviews, I saw that another customer had recently reported her cat getting fleas here. The owner, John, responded to her review with “come in for a tour” instead of showing any concern or responsibility.
A more appropriate response would have been something like, “I’m so sorry to hear that. Let me refund you, and please know we’ve had a report of ringworm so you may want to have your cat tested.” But instead, John has been dismissive, rude, and completely unwilling to acknowledge the situation.
After multiple emails back and forth, he has still not apologized or accepted any responsibility. My vet bills are now over $1,000, and my cats are not doing well. Pet owners deserve transparency and accountability when trusting a facility with their animals, and unfortunately, that has been entirely...
Read moreWe traveled to California and have used feline hotel before with great results. It’s true peace of mind when traveling that your pets get the care and stay calm and relaxed and you are reassured that they are. Starts with your reservation and filling out vaccination health forms so that all cats stay safe. A tour of the facility will help put you at ease of environment especially what they call the group room where all cats get to socialize. All employees I dealt with John will answer all questions. If a health issue happens they will support the situation with a vet that actually works with them and may make a house call at their location. For all cat lovers you will love having a location to leave your loved one and then enjoy your trip away from them. We felt pricing location and communication all were what we liked to actually use their services. Try them and find out...
