Several times now my medications were held for “insurance” or for instruction verification. This is “helpful” to the point of interfering with my treatment. They held back my medication for three days ($18 retail) while I was bedridden with pain and swelling. The explanation I was given “held pending insurance, no action necessary”. I had to find this out and clear it up myself. It turns out my insurance only covers 30 supply. My dr wanted me to try to reduce the dose at the end of the week by one pill, but Have enough for a month in case the reduced dosage did not work out. So that I could finally get relief I settled on 30 day supply based on the reduced dose .Well It did not work out and I had to take the full dose so ran out in 22 days, and I couldn’t refill till 30 days. So I got a new prescription for the same stuff but the doctor modified the dosage again my prescription is delayed ,No other explanation other than pending approval. I had to call Walgreens several times to find out the problem and explain the doctors instructions. When they did fill that prescription, I had to stand in line a second time so the pharmacist could explain to me the dosage , that same information that I had explained to them over the phone hours earlier. They couldn’t fill my whole prescription because they were out and order to get the whole prescription I would have to wait 5 days or take less and ask my dr for another prescription later on. Then I get there and they charged my insurance for some of my prescription just not all so overcharged caught it after I left. Had to make another trip there and wait in line and waste gas and wasn’t even giving a apology till I said something about it then when she said sorry she did it snotty. Poor customer service for picking up 7 prescriptions because I get all my family meds there but I was picking up my moms also. Read moreI tried picking up prescription they said that they didn't have anything on record even though my doctor had confirmation that the pharmacist accepted it they then didn't answer the phone after tried multiple times and then after I sat on hold for a half hour waiting for somebody to answer they picked up and hung up and then when I called back it was again the same long lengthy wait time as I had originally these people are incompetent and don't know how to do their jobs properly it's ridiculous.
