The Automat - Detailing, Ceramic Coatings, Paint Protection Films (PPF) — Local services in Rockaway

Well.. its been 2yrs since my detail from The Automat. I didn't get to write a review, then totally forgot about it. As I was washing my car today, I couldn't help think about how good of a job they did. I have a 08' VW Jetta, Salsa Red. I was looking to get a complete detail, paint restored and everything. At the time, the red was dull and swirled up pretty bad. I dropped the car off, they gave me a loner which was nice since I didn't live near by. When I picked up the car it looked great, but to be honest I thought it could of been a little better. At the time, I was just expecting the paint to look brand-new again but the car was 14yrs old so not sure why I was thinking that. All my friends noticed the difference and how shiny and reflective, deep, like a mirror the car looked now. I was only looking at scratches and they couldn't get all of them fixed, but 90% were. So I was probably expecting too much for 14yr old paint, that's why I didn't ever write the review. As I learned more of the process and how paint is on cars and talking with other detailers that I know, The Automat did a really, really good job. I feel bad I didn't write this earlier. I had the car done in 2021, and it still looks just as good the day I picked it up from them.

Normally, I'm not one to leave reviews of services as these since often, then don't leave any notable impression apart from a job well done which is more than adequate for my expectations. However, once in a while, because of some reason or another, I am obliged to offer some insight on a wonderful job done. In this case Sardil, the owner, was perhaps one of the most understanding, professional, and courteous person I have had the pleasure of doing business with. From the very first phone call to the last, they kept me updated with possible appointment times, pick up times, estimated wait times for the detail to be completed. I cant say the same thing for more mainline business doing the same. A formidable business all around with ethics that make one want to go back and have a detail done every year, which is most likely what I will end up doing seeing as how wonderful the job was done overall and how concise and clean everything turned out in the end. I am a great admirer of the fine details in a job well done like the pick up and drop off of the car for no additional charge and the extra steps to guarantee that my car looked as close to how it did new.

Would recommend the Automat for any paint protection or car detailing services you’d need. Sardil, the owner, is extremely nice, personable, easy to talk to and amazingly professional, knows a ton about the business and treats every customer’s car with the same level of respect and attention to detail. My parents had their Jeep Trackhawk ceramic coated here, I had my 2019 Dodge Charger Daytona 392 ceramic coated here and my parents are now having their Dodge Demon ceramic coated here. Sardil’s prices are extremely reasonable, including multiple details following any ceramic coating, etc. and 1 free detail a year afterward. I would highly, highly recommend The Automat and Sardil to anyone of my friends in the car scene or anyone in general who wants to keep their car looking amazing. I would definitely also return if I had another vehicle that I’d like to have ceramic coated and protected.
