BAKE Market — Local services in Rocky Hill

This was my 1st time at this establishment and I was really hopeful given I am GF and there aren’t many bakeries that offer a wide range of GF items. I ordered a salad and some GF desserts online, went to pick up my order, and felt I was treated fairly rude by whomever worked up front, didn’t get her name. Walked in, and saw my order was ready for pickup on the side with my name, but I didn’t want to grab it and go without letting someone know. I greeted the employee and said, “I made an online order, and believe this is mine” her response was distasteful in my opinion replying, “I mean I don’t know you, or your name, so I couldn’t tell you. But if it’s yours grab it”. A simple, “oh what’s your name, perfect, all set have a great day” would’ve sufficed. I felt I had to explain that I didn’t just want to grab it, without letting her know. Ordered chocolate chip cookie, bourbon vanilla red velvet cupcake, and banana scone. The cookie was a bit too chocolatey and harder than I expected. The cupcake was dry but frosting was really good. The scone didn't even register any banana flavor. Honestly my first visit was a bit underwhelming. Service was decent, but they were too slow to restock the pastries especially with too many idle hands. With Doro Marketplace nearby, I will probably go there next.

Whenever I am in the Rocky Hill/Wethersfield area, I must stop at Bake Market to bring something home. Everything I have tried from sauces, dinners, soups, etc to their wonderful desserts has been delicious. I stopped to get more sauce and pasta and enjoyed a fantastic gluten free peanut butter cookie and a great cup of coffee to go! I am so glad they offer gf options! I look forward to going each visit!
