Brought in my LCD TV because I had no picture only volume. Was told it was $20 to look at it. I gave them my $20 and was called that very evening and told what was wrong. This was a Wednesday evening that I received the call back. They needed to order all three light bars on the tv. They said they needed to order them and I would have my tv back in a week. Was also told it would be $70. I asked if it was worth it and the man on the phone said he thought it was. I also asked what the warranty was and was told 4 years. Well $70 for 4 years seemed worth it to me, over buying a new tv. Now, a week and a day later I was told it still wasn't ready, call back tomorrow (one week plus two days). So I did and it was ready on that Friday. Then came the big problem. When I went to pick it up, I was told it was going to cost me an additional $96 and change. They refused to acknowledge I was told $70 and I already gave them $20. That $20 had nothing to do with it, so I was looking at $116 for a repaired tv. ALSO, I was told there was a 90 day warranty (if I'm remembering that part wrong, I'm sorry, I am giving them the benefit of doubt - it could have been 30 days). Either way 4 years and 90 days are way apart. I was also called a liar for saying I was told 4 years. Yes, they think I made up that number in my head. I ended up paying $90 total, what a ripoff place!! Find another place to go if you need tv repair. I expressed this opinion when I was there. They said they were there for 40 years. I don't know if that's true, but if so, they have been cheating customers for 40 years, because I cannot be the only one...

WORTH THE DRIVE!!! I'll tell you, after countless shops told me they could fix my DVD recorders, and then said "Sorry, can't fix it," and one guy who just screamed at me that he WOULDN'T touch them, and that parts weren't available, I happened upon reviews for Syd's shop and gave him a call. He said he would do his best to try to fix as many as he could (I have four, and Syd has repaired three so far. Every time one of mine stopped working, I just bought another one ... but they don't make these machines anymore, and the refurbished ones only last about 18 months if you're lucky! You can purchase "refurbished" ones on Amazon for upwards of $1000, and I can't afford that!)

If parts aren't available, he will do what he can to FIX THE PARTS! Nobody does that anymore! One of my repaired my machines failed after a few days, I brought it back, and Syd fixed it again (under WARRANTY!). I have several more electronic devices that I want to have him fix when I can afford it (I'm on disability). His prices are reasonable and he stands behind his work! So I don't mind driving THREE HOURS round trip!!!...

Called up Friday, got quote over phone, guy said he would be out Mon or Tues when part came in. Nothing. Called him Weds, he said "Did you pay for part?" I said no one told me to pay in advance. So I paid $150 for the part. On Saturday morning, out of the blue, he shows up when I am in the shower,. He says he called. I got no confirmation, we had no appointment. (I found out later his assistant called earlier while I was out raking leaves, didn't get message until later. Never confirmed or set an appointment for him to come out) I told him it wasn't convenient, He said "Well, I'm here now!" I told him he shouldn't show up without confirmation, he got real nasty, said, "You shouldn't be sleeping so late, you were raised improperly!" We had words, i cancelled. VERY unprofessional.
