Universal Square Shopping Center — Local services in Rosemead

Over the years this shopping center had several businesses made the local newspaper for health code violations. This place is historic for how long it has been there unchanged. Just went there for the firework booth. There is an average Asian cafe next to the supermarket. A noodle shop, and a Vietnamese beef 7 course there. All of which had made the news but it is pretty normal. I had patronize all but the noodle shop. The other cafe next to the bank detached from the main block is nice niche southern Asian fusion. Ate there, it's not bad but also not enough to draw me back as a frequent. However, that's all pre-pandemic. Yet to visit any of...

It was ok. Store owners were friendly and welcoming ☺️ I went to the 99 cent store to buy a pair of headphones and the asian owners were courteous and helpful. I'm being treated better by asian store owners and employees of different places I go to than members of my own race, it's a shame asian courtesy is not followed by other races. I guess that's why Asians are so successful in business, because they still know how to make a customer...

Wonderful Asian market here. Used to be an Alpha Beta years ago, in other words a large store with fantastic select of Chinese, Vietnamese and other Asian produce, meats and row upon row of sauces, spices, prepared foods and some cookware. I found exactly what I wanted; Chinese sausage (Lap Cheung) and Pearl River Bridge sauces. And had a fun half hour of wandering...
