My first acai bowl here was amazing and then it was downhill from there. Every subsequent visit showed me how my first bowl was a fluke.
(1) On one visit, when I asked to add bananas, the guy pulled out the greenest bananas from the back kitchen. I had to stop him because I didn't want starchy, unripe, unsweet, green bananas. He didn't notice the bananas and was taken aback when I backtracked on wanting bananas.
(2) On another visit, I ordered the granola with freeze-dried strawberries. This was the stalest granola ever. I ended up scooping out the granola to not waste my bowl. It makes sense that Vita Canes has stale ingredients because they don't store the toppings bar in airtight containers in the day (and probably not overnight).
(3) Another time, I asked for chia seed pudding with my acai base. The pudding was OLD and it was clumping into chunks. It tasted sour. That's when I threw away my unfinished bowl and swore this place off for good.
A couple years ago I tried this place for their sugar cane drink. I ordered an iced sugar cane drink without any additives. I thought it was strange that the employee filled my cup from a pre-filled pitcher. I was expecting a freshly squeezed sugar cane, but I didn't put much stock in it. Within 30 minutes, I noticed my drink was noticible cloudier. There was still ice in it. It tasted off. It was tangy and sour. Was my drink from an old batch? Was the machine not well cleaned when juicing? Either way, I threw my drink away, ignored Vita Cane, and promised to only go to places where they make the sugar cane drink fresh to-order.
I went back for the acai bowls and I've been regretting giving this place so many chances. I don't want to go anywhere willing to serve customers poor quality, old stock. They're so inconsistent. It's annoying, but more importantly,...

My go-to drink is t he fire dragon, which is fresh sugarcane juice and dragonfruit. It's sweet and refreshing, perfect for hot summer day or after eating a heavy meal.
If sugarcane juice is not your thing, you can always get an acai bowl. They offer many bases and the options for toppings is endless. My favorite bowl contains pitaya base, honey granola, bananas, blueberries, strawberries, pumpkin seeds, toasted coconut, cinnamon and a little bit of honey. It's like having a sundae but much...
