I can't say enough great things about this Barnes & Noble. When we found out that this was opening at the Avenue at East Cobb we were ecstatic. We hadn't been to Barnes and Noble since before the pandemic, and the store in Savannah, Georgia was nice, but we saw it gradually turn more and more into a corporate sales trap. It felt impersonal and salesy. So when we visited this store, I was pleasantly surprised, first, at the layout. It's so open and bright - immediately I felt like I could walk and browse the shelves without feeling rushed to purchase. I also noticed how amazingly friendly the booksellers are - not in a "buy our books" kind of way, but in a welcoming gentle presence that relaxes rather than stresses you out. We now make this store a weekly trip and it hasn't changed in the least. I'm so excited to feel like I'm going to an actual bookstore again, rather than an Amazon warehouse - it feels like an experience rather than a shopping errand. I can tell that the manager and all the employees really care about the experience the customers have and that the books have been selected and curated rather than picked only because they're bestsellers or most popular. I hope this never changes and can't wait to keep coming back!
Also, to my fellow booklovers and customers: please BE NICE to the employees. They are working hard to make this an amazing place for us to spend time and find amazing reads. They are HUMAN booklovers like the rest of us so let's not ruin the experience for others by being...
Read moreI had an extremely disappointing experience at Starbucks store inside this Barnes and Noble. I don’t know the name of the attendant, but she was working on July 1st, 2025, at 6:15 PM. She demonstrated a shocking lack of professionalism, patience, and basic human decency; qualities that are essential in the service industry.
My toddler briefly touched a stack of napkins, and I responsibly removed both the top and bottom ones he came into contact with. Instead of handling the situation with understanding or even a modicum of courtesy, the employee rushed over in an exaggerated display of annoyance, aggressively discarded the entire stack, and acted as though we were a burden rather than customers.
Her demeanor was hostile from the start, when I placed and order earlier. Frowning , impatient, and clearly not suited for a customer-facing role. This type of behavior is not just unacceptable; it’s damaging to your brand and reflects a serious lapse in training or hiring standards.
People who lack empathy, composure, and basic people skills should not be employed in a setting that depends on customer satisfaction. I hope this matter is taken seriously and addressed...
Read moreThe store layout is brilliant as it has an almost labrynth-like quality to it...almost feels as if one is getting lost in the books but also creates a cozy feel and has chair situated in various "rooms"...cafe area has a sleek feel to it....book selections are less copious due to it being a smaller store size but all important recent publications are present. Also has a great selection of journals, wrapping papers (though rather expensive -but beautiful and even frameable worthy ), kids toys, vinyl, etc...Definitely a place worth checking out and grabbing a coffee or to study...
