I purchased a chain from Marc Robinson Jewelers in November 2024. It literally sat in the case untouched until March 2025, when I finally started wearing it. I only wore it on and off for about five months, and then the clasp broke while I was simply taking it off for the night.
When I went back to see if they would stand behind their product, I was told it would cost $150 to repair the clasp. What makes this even more disappointing is that we have purchased other pieces from Marc Robinson before and have never had an issue. Even after looking up our history in the system and seeing that we are repeat customers, they still wanted to charge us the full repair cost.
I’m frustrated that a jeweler of this reputation does not offer even a one-year warranty for manufacturer defects. Jewelry should last longer than a few months of light wear, and loyal customers should be treated with better care. Very disappointed.
Follow-Up Review
After my experience with the Marc Robinson company, I decided to take my chain to my other jeweler—Ranch Road Jewelry in Cedar Park, whom I’ve trusted for years and never had any problems with. I’m so glad I did. They were able to fix the latch for me at a significantly lower price than what Marc Robinson quoted.
What really impressed me was their service guarantee: they told me that if anything else ever happens to this latch, they’ll fix it next time for free. That level of care and customer service is exactly why I’ve always loved Ranch Road Jewelry. They treat their customers fairly, stand behind their work, and make you feel valued—not just like another transaction.
And if any of you ever decide to visit them, ask for Mary—she’s the sales lady who has always taken the best care of us. Friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely helpful, she makes the whole experience even better.
If you’re looking for honesty, reliability, and excellent craftsmanship, Ranch Road Jewelry is the place I’d recommend...
Read moreHands down a life changing experience working with Rubina! I'm a strong believer of things happen for reason, thankfully that brought me to M Robinson. Perfectly curated jewelry store with employees that are passionate, not intrusive, and have your best interest in mind. I walked in looking overly casual in the market to buy a watch if one grabbed me. I was instantly assisted by one associate(I wish I remembered his name) who helped us look at a Citizen. My curiosity took control when I noticed the Rolex event going on. The gentleman then introduced me to Rubina who kindly assisted the rest of the way. She took the time to understand my needs, wants, and nailed it each time showing me selections that took my breath away! Oddly enough the price tag became more palatable as time went on because she wasn't working me as a sale, she genuinely cared and had my best interest in mind. Any concerns she addressed, any issues she sought assistance, and made me feel like I was a priority. In the past I've walked out of establishments I felt my business was not valued. Not here! Armed with sparkling wine(which they never let my glass get empty) I was ready to make not only a purchase but an investment. Rubina spent over a couple of hrs with boyfriend and me to help me walk away with the most beautiful purchase I have ever made! To top things off, my boyfriend took the watch back to get it detailed by Jaime and his staff. I trusted the process and suggestions Jaime made to restore my Rolex to its original setting that would enhance it's overall look. I'm in love and stare at my watch on the daily. My deepest gratitude to Rubina and Jaime for making this a memorable experience and happy and excited to make my next Rolex...
Read moreWhat did I get from these goons? Junk! Only two of the opals were real; the others were glass. Emeralds? Nope. They weren't worth $50 for all of them together.$1500 is what I paid for this junk. Good honest people. Like hell. Buyer beware!
Part of my personal porfolio are emerals and opals. On ocasion. I will visit a jewlwer to see if thet have loose gem pieces. On this day at MRJ's I asked for emerals and opals. Rubina came out with two small packets. Yes, they looked like medium green emerals and some small, what looked like opals.
I didn't have my 30x Loupe magnafier. A 6 light portable metal mag for textile optical jewlrey. Along with my Chelsea, jadeite filter. Most used for gems, emerals and green stones. Point being . I had to trust MRJ's to have integrity and be trustworthy. It turns out, I missplaced my trust. Buyer beware.
What you are looking at below is: Green Chalcedony( often faked with glass) they are not emeralds. The others are 2 opals the rest are not. To be fair I did check a few different places to confirm my findings. I don't want to be wrong. Also, most of these are not worth more than $5 to $35. The two opals could be worth up to $85. For what I paid for the lot. Is embarrassing. If they were real. The value could have been on the money. The white opel neckless can be worth $500 to $10,000. Its not $10,000. Just to give perspective.
I text Rubina to get a refund. Why. Because it was simply not what I bought. She was going to talk to someone to take them back. I would be glad to return them. I never got a call back.
My only altenitive was to report fraud. Which I did. If I prevail. when my money is returned to me. I will return the gems to MRJ's. Be cause that is the right thing to...
