My experience at Holy Cross Emergency Room on 5600 South in Roy, Utah. Day was November 5, 2023. I had been hit in a passenger side t-bone car accident; I was the driver, not the passenger. I didn’t have any broken bones, wasn’t bleeding anywhere, and was pretty with it, not concussed that I know of, knew where I was, what had happened, don’t believe I ever lost consciousness, but had been told I had super high blood pressure, like 200, so I arrived by ambulance. A nurse put me in a room, told me to put on the gown and other cover up. I did. I repeatedly stated this was my first car accident, basically saying, give me all the info regarding anything to do with this, because I’m in the dark. I had intense pain in both the left outer/front of my left thigh, about 4-5 inches above my knee, and on the right side of my chest, basically my breast at the top and right, and the chest area above it. I told this to the nurse. At no time was I given a cold pack, treated for shock, offered a blanket in that cold room, nothing! The nurse put the thing on my finger, and possibly took my blood pressure, I can’t remember. Are people not given hot/cold packs so swelling/bruising, and pain might be a small bit alleviated in these circumstances? My husband arrived shortly after I did and was in my room continually when the doctor was in the room. I thought the doctor would need to examine me, take note of my injuries and bruises, and know what to look for in those areas. I put the robe on like I do with my gynecologist, open in front, but completely covered up. The doctor partly came in the door, saw I had the robe on differently than expected and told me the ties go in the back I think, and ran away. I turned it around. When the doctor came back in, he didn’t even approach me. He stood at the other end of the room and asked me if I thought I needed a CAT scan or an MRI. I said no. The doctor acted like I was going to come on to him, or attack him or something, I felt. He was definitely not comfortable with the situation, and had no bedside manner! He told the nurse to give me 2 extra -strength acetaminophen and an 800 mg ibuprofen and was done. I was disgusted with the unreal lack of anything on his part. I told them specifically that I had a blood clot history in the left leg so they would know. No one told me what to expect, didn’t even seem to hear me about the blood clot history, or give me symptoms to look for, that might be an issue. I think I had multiple hematomas, possibly bruised bones, which no one bothered to mention could happen, or be what I had either; I had to look it up online when the bruises and pain stayed past months and had lumps under them. I still have a lump in the left leg where the bruise was, and it’s painful. It’s nearly been 4 months. Neither the doctor or nurse gave me any idea on how long it would take me to recover and be able to move with ease and without pain, or what to expect at all! Even though I repeatedly said, “This is my 1st time in an accident.” Total lack of everything on their part! Pretty much even human kindness. Sure, put the info on the discharge papers, whatever, but if I’m asking for information, tell me at the time too! This was my first experience with Holy Cross, but had been to this ER other times before then. With my experience, I would definitely never recommend someone go to this...
Read moreI would like to give this place about negative 10 . First of I walked into the emergency room barley. The intake lady was clearly mad I interrupted whatever she was doing as there was not one single soul in there to be treated’ I have been in some serious pain for at least the last 6 months about 2 monthsago it got worse. Pain in my lower back radiating all the way down my leg and then into my groin and pelvic area. And now noticed a ball or something protruding out of my girl area. I had a nerve block done in my leg I’ve been to the chiropractor I’ve seen an orthopedic dr. Nothing has helped. The last few nights have gotten Increasingly worse. So of course I look up prolapse back pain everything. And from what I’m reading everywhere is that a vaginal prolapse can cause this also. So hardly able to stand or walk and been crying for days now I go to this er. The nurse was fairly decent. But in walked Dr chapman(I use the word Dr very loosely) He folds his arms and leans back with the most smug already made up mind I’ve ever encountered in my 50 years’ we discuss what’s going on he stood me impatiently and says sounds like you need to go back and tell them it didn’t work. Ok sure but what I’m here for is because it seems I have something protruding from my vagina’ he scoffed at me well a prolapsed bladder will not cause back or nerve pain. So rude so judgmental. I quickly realize this is not going to help. I tell him ok if like to leave . Go so I can get dressed. He stated well we can do a urine test, I was going to examine you! Oh no your not! I am not comfortable around you . You have terrible bedside manor. And I say you should read up a little cause a vagimal or bladder prolapse can cause back and leg pain. To which at this time he almost yelling. So what you went to medical school. And you are leaving against medical advice Fine by me cause you aren’t touching me. I cried all the way home and all night long. In the morning I was able to get an appointment with my old dr who had moved 45 minutes away, that’s ok it’s worth it. The out come. I am scheduled for a hysterectomy due to my uterus walls have collapsed and my bladder is almost completely protruded. And then a spinal ablation. Yes they are 2 seoetste thkngs but both share the same area and cause pain. Both problems have given me trouble walking for more than a couple minutes. Well done Dr chapman well done. You should br ashamed of yourself. And I’m questioning if you want to medical school. I am completely traumatized by my interactions with this man. Never ever ever...
Read moreDisastrous experience, I went in for an X-ray, that went fine. But after a week of not hearing back from my doc I called my dr.s office. He is on the Davis portal so they do not need to send anything to him. They just enter it in the system and he can log in and see it. My drs office and I called several timeshare day(one week after the X-rays) but Davis Weber Campus in Roy repeatedly said there was no record of me coming in. No record , no X-ray. After work I went in (I knew I would be getting a bill for it later). Deanna at the front desk could not find any record of me being there and said she would talk to the technician on duty. Asked me to sit in the lab section. After much waiting time I saw a new girl working the front desk. I told her about needing my X-ray and she immediately pulled up my admission records for that day with the dr order for the X-ray .I have no idea why someone could not have done that on the first request ! Deanna came back from the back office saying so sorry I spaced you completely out , got busy and forgot about it. They checked with the technician and could not find the X-ray. They offered to do another one but I knew I would be billed twice so I declined. They next day they found my x Ray and would not put it on the Davis portal for my dr -they said all they could do was give me a disk because he was not with Tanner and would not be able to log in. I had taken my dr a disk from them last year. He does not have equipment to play their disk after his call they put it on the portal. He signed on and could see it. This time the sent me with a no good disk even though I told them that he does have access. They were completely unorganized, unprofessional and argumentative—before I ding the papers and disk they insisted I had gone somewhere else and forgot or I might have left before getting the xray. I was in no mood to take a useless es disk to my dr and get him frustrated to have to call them about putting it on the portal I left very frustrated with their...
