Board House and Bike Shop — Local services in Ruidoso

FUN!!!! I went into the shop just to check it out but I found out they had full suspension ebikes for rent! I hadn’t had a chance to ride one so I had a million questions for them. I work in retail and sometimes going into a small board or bike shop the staff can be too cool to be helpful, not the case here. I had really great interactions with two of the guys in the shop. Both of them really went out of their way to educate me on ebikes as well as telling me the best local trails to ride! I was pumped so I got my gear came back and rented an Ebike. I don’t think I have ever smiled so big, I normally ride an orbea occam which I LOVE and although this bike was much much heavier it handled well through their local downhill trail. Going back up was crazy fun, and I could talk and laugh with my friend the whole way up! We did five laps in the time it would have taken me to do two on my occam. The Board House crew is amazing, and we did not even rent equipment from them. Rented a cabin for spring break and had some snow. Today at 4:00, all roads clear and driveway was 100% clear and salted. We ran to eat the buffet at Inn of the Mountain Gods and returned about 6:30 to over an inch of fresh snow. Started up Skylane Rd and had to back down.

I quickly dashed into The Board House to inquire about chain rentals for my SUV. They made a couple of calls to help, but we discovered the businesses with chains were closed. Not a problem at The Board House! The crew at the shop invited me to park in their lot, and Shane offered to take my wife, two kids, and me to the house in his vehicle(which was immaculate, by the way).

This group had absolutely no reason to provide assistance, but they were amazing in helping to solve a bad situation! I could not be more grateful! Shane- you’re a Rock Star!

As soon as my family and I walked into the shop we were immediately greeted with a warm and friendly welcome. I needed to rent snowboarding gear and Blake made sure to quickly accommodate me. He picked out the perfect boots, snowboard, and helmet for me and made sure I was comfortable with everything. (Btw they have high-end good quality gear for a great price!) The whole process was fast. I've been to many other shops with friendly costumer service, but Blake went out of his way to make sure I had the best experience. He educated me on everything I needed to know, and answered all of my questions with generosity and a smile! The employees here take their job serious and are extremely helpful and kind. I will definitely be coming back anytime I need to rent snowboarding gear. Thank you Blake for being so AWESOME!! I highly recommend...
