Until recently, Iāve had a pleasant shopping experience at The Local Hobby Lobby. I recently relocated my small business back home Dallas, Texas. I am milliner so I spend SEVERAL dollars on materials needed to customize my hats. I am in that store DAILY spending money. In retail, managers receive bonuses from their performance at their store. The more money the store makes, the more money HE makes. I called corporate in regards to an issue I WAS having with my discount card. Now, I feel they are retaliating against me. Especially, the assistant manger, LISA. Tonight, Lisa, notified the manager I was in the store. The both of them approached me in the back of the store to tell me about what the auditor said etc. how he got wrote up from giving me discount the previous day. The manager basically told he doesnāt answer to CORPORATE, he answers to his DISTRICT manager.š¤Make it make sense Mr.Sir! Now, Iāve already spoken to corporate and Guy has instructed me to send my paperwork to him. Lisa followed me up to front to WATCH me check out. I felt very uncomfortable. I despise folk with motives such as theirs. But, what they donāt know I am that person if you see me in a fight with a bearā¦help the bear.Thank God for growth and a successful business. The turn overā¦meaning employees that have left the store is because several of them didnāt like how they were being treated at this store. I will not be spending my hard earned money back at this location. I will also be following up with BBB in regards to my treatment at this...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThe slowest checkout I've ever experienced. THEY DON'T USE BARCODE SCANNERS. The (overwhelmingly "friendly") cashier explained that they manually enter prices, and use a printed chart to determine which items are on sale. If a given item isn't on the chart, they walk very very slowly to wherever you got the item to look for a sign indicating if said item is actually on sale. Then they walk just as slowly back to the register to manually input the discounted price. I hope this was a one-time thing, and that they are now using barcodes. But I won't be finding out anytime...

Now I am going to love the convenience of having one of my favorite stores closer to home. The new store is so clean and organized and the employees are friendly and helpful. Thanks for bringing this store to Ruston!
Update: I wish this store ran sales like they used to. Now it is the same thing week after week on sale. Need variety in sales like they were before. Knocking it down a star...
