I ordered something online for delivery, and got an email saying that the order was delayed. No biggie except the new estimated time was 3 AM that day. Which makes no sense as it was 12:30 PM when I saw the email. I tried the Walgreens online chatbot to help me, but it was no help because it wouldn't connect me to a real person without having an account, and it was such poor AI that it wasn't programmed to automatically send me to a real person when I said I had no account. So I tried calling the 877 number, but the customer service rep told me she couldn't help (although she wanted to) because it's the individual store that sets the delivery time. I called the store, and they had no record of a package or an order for me. So I called the 877 number back to cancel the order, and they told me they couldn't because per their system the package was ready to be picked up by Doordash. I was about to file a complaint with Better Business Bureau (not for the sake of being a complainer, but sometimes you only can get in touch with someone who can/will help after you involve an advocacy group, when it shouldn't have to come to that) - then I got a text saying my order is on its way.
Huh??
I don't really like leaving nasty reviews, but in the amount of time I spent tracking this down, Walgreens probably could have just not sent an email to say my order was delayed in the first place, because the texted delivery estimate was exactly the same as what they originally had said. So after speaking with 4 Walgreens employees who probably had better things to do (as did I) over the 2 hours or so I spent trying to track this down - perhaps they can have a glitch-free system that doesn't report a delay that doesn't exist, or at minimum a much more efficient way of handling when there is a glitch?
Also - I might as well add that when I got my first Covid vaccine from this Walgreens location in 2021 or 2022, their pharmacy mixed up my records with someone else who has the same name but different date of birth who lives in a different state. They gave me an information packet with her name, date of birth, and address, which I believe means they initially entered my Covid record into her account. When I told a pharmacist about this she looked kind of panicked and seemed to take a long time trying to fix the mix up - because I think that might be considered a HIPAA violation, which is a serious thing. Makes me wonder if they mix up people's prescriptions as well, which could be very dangerous.
Long story short, I don't recommend this store. But because it's the closest thing to a grocery store in town, I'm forced to keep using it whenever I need grocery-like products on short notice.
I'll accept it if anyone I dealt with today says I was a nasty B with them - but I still stand behind my review. There's no reason to make things harder than they need to be, and no need to confuse people with automated notifications that are inaccurate then expect the customer to just understand that glitches just happen, if they...
Read moreWent to pick up Mucinex and it was $23.99 in the store but it was $11.99 online... Asked if the price was wrong and the lady at the register said they have different prices in the store. Told her I was going to order online for pickup and she said it would be a 30 minute wait even though I left the item on the counter. 30 minutes goes by and I get an email from Walgreens saying there was a delay in my order (there's no 30 minute wait for pickup it can be ready sooner).. go back to the store after an hour and she just ignored the order all together because the shift manager said they must have missed it and he was sorry. The item was still on the counter and it took 2 seconds to run the online order through the system.
Best Buy has been doing price matching for years from other stores but Walgreens doesn't even do it with their own store? Between this broken system and the terrible service I won't...
Read moreWhen this store was as "Rite Aid", things were very good and had friendly and helpful reps at the pharmacy. Once it got over by Walgreens, it became a nightmare. When I call, I will be on hold for more than an hour and no one will pickup - today I was on the call waiting for more than one hour and even after 9 PM, the automated system was saying as if there is one caller ahead, pure lie. When it comes to the reps at the pharmacy, the woman rep with short brownish blond hair was so rude and very unprofessional. I have seen her behaving like this with other customers as well. She snaps and screeches at people. I want Walgreens head office take action against this woman (young, short and bit...
