Garner State Park Gift Shop — Local services in Sabinal

The grass is horribly tall in the sites. And also in the common areas that have been mowed all the years we have been coming. The campsite asphalt is crumbling as it has only been chip sealed and patched for 40 plus years. The day campers trash the park and the police are more interested in writing speeding citations than citing for littering and parking vehicles off the pavement which not only kills the grass, but also damages water and electric lines buried underground. The park is run terribly. I wish the people in charge would do their job. They are payed by taxpayer money and the small amount generated by the park revenue. And their salaries should be cut until they start doing their jobs. I bring a weed eater knowing my site will be in bad shape. I have written abd emailed legislatures and tpwd staff. And as usual, I get the run around, or no reply at all. Garner used to be my favorite place in the world. But it has gotten so bad, that we only go when the kids ask to go. How completely unacceptable this is. I hope every one contacts their own representative and complains. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. But no one...

I would love to give more stars but the girl at the register tonight was so rude and ugly towards me. It was very loud and clear that she didn't want to help us and cash us out either. It was just with us that she was rude to, she was happy to help others out and happy to be hanging out with her co workers but when I asked her for help and to cash out she was just ugly mannerisms and facial expressions. Went to buy a magnet as a souvenir for our recent trip. The girl behind the counter never looked up from her phone to greet us or ask if we needed any help. Once we paid she didn't thank us for our business and seemed bothered that she had to be there at all. I asked for a receipt and all she could do was email me a receipt which seems absurd. I checked my bank statement today and she doubled charged me for the magnet. Now I will have to take time to deal with this because the cashier was not paying attention to what...
