Hannaford — Local services in Saco

This Hannaford Store has quite possibly the best layout of any supermarket I've ever been in. The layout makes sense, beginning with a produce department that includes a kitchen area.

As you travel through this store seafood, meat and most of the dairy is along the back wall. The last aisle is bread, which makes sense so you're not putting heavier items on bread crushing it.

Leaving the bread aisle you can head toward checkout, or into the wine and distilled spirits area. It is its own section within the store but designed to be shopped only by those shoppers wanting wine or distilled spirits.

In the front of the store, tucked out of the way is the Hannaford Pharmacy, with a spacious waiting area. There are also multiple windows allowing more than one customer to pickup prescriptions and do consults for customer convenience.

Another thing I liked is the nice self checkout area with several point of sale terminals. As I left one, my bag ripped and my items fell to the floor. The service leader promptly walked over asking if I would like a reusable bag at no charge, which I appreciated very much.

The store is clean, and better stocked as of the day I'm writing this review than many other stores in the area. Even though the store was quite busy, it didn't seem crowded and I didn't see long...

So I’ve lived in South Portland, Scarborough, and now Ocean park OOB and I have to say the old orchard/ Saco Hannaford is the absolute worst. I’ve been shopping here for months now and I’ve noticed that they rarely restock certain items and are usually out of most things. There products that I start to buy regularly from Hannafords but it’s seems like everytime an item I buy sells out they just replace it with another and stop selling it. Core protein shakes, apple juices from the produce area, kind fridge almond bars, like tons of things I’ll buy the last one of and next week it’s gone completely. Very different from every other hannafords that I have shopped at. It seems like the managers of this location don’t care about the quality of there store. Even the Biddeford Hanford is so so much better I would recommend going to any other Hanford then this one. Unfortunately I am stuck shopping at this one because of how close I now live. I think it’s honestly just the laziness of the managers at this store that they rather just put an exsisting item in a slot and remove the tag then actually more. All of the other Hanford are still carrying these products...

May 2 I was struggling, but my cat needed food so I go to place I go 3 x a week or more so I get 10 cns of sm fancy feast and than had 8 big items ..I was telling woman at service desk if wasn't for cat I would be out today, I go to 14 or less be4 I could say I have these items and if we count these as one I am in the 14 no one in line do u mind , I have the big items on belt she says this is why we put sigh up ( for the dumb people) I started to put my stuff back in carriage she than well ill take u this time..No ma you get to call me stupid and than try to be the hero your right sign there a reason the cashier next to you will take me she had no one in line also as no one in in any cashier we exchanged more words ..you don't get to humiliate me than try to over correct this woman need retrain on customer service..I was there at 1135 checking out she was closest to service desk ..the way u treat people is unforgivable... Hannaford I expect more from Saco Hannaford. I guess I'll spend my 350 a month somewhere else it's not much money but if you checked my rewards u see I am...
