Firstly, i am not overly picky on service or food. I'm pretty easy to please. But my dinner experience Saturday night on 8/17 was an absolute abomination. My group of 5 arrived and waited for about 40 minutes for a seat which was perfectly reasonable for a Saturday. When we were sat by the hostess, we were sat at an old picnic table that had warped boards on top and was next to the AC condenser making it hard to have a conversation. After about 10 minutes our waitress(Who was the ONLY positive thing about the night) came over we politely asked if we could move to one of the several unused tables with high back chairs as my elderly mother was having back issues without the support. The waitress agreed and moved us. A few minutes after that we could see the hostess giving us dirty looks and pointing at us to other employees for what i can assume was us asking to move to a normal table. Our waitress took our order and we then proceeded to wait about 45 minutes for the any of our food to come out. During this time the waitress must have apologized 10+ times. The first meal came out and was for my daughter. The next 2 meals came out together about another 10 minutes after that. The 4th meal came out another 10 minutes after that, leaving me as the only one without food. The waitress came to check on us to discover that everyone was just about done eating and i still hadn't gotten my food. My meal was another 10 minutes later and by this time i was getting eaten alive by mosquitos so i asked for the check before my plate was even down so i could quickly eat, pay and get out there. The manager finally came over and apologized and said she took some money off the bill as an apology for the awful experience. I assumed that at least my meal would be compensated as everyone was done eating by the time my meal arrived but nope. On a 160 dollar bill they took off 23 bucks. So after the most unorganized dinner I've had, getting dirty looks from the hostess the food honestly wasn't even worth the high price tag and management seemed to not have any idea how bad service was that night. I really hate to write these things as I'm a very easy going person but good lord this just really ticked me off that i spent this much money and was given attitude by employees and subpar food that arrived in 10 minute increments. Do yourself a favor, there are plenty of quality seafood restaurants in Maine, just don't come...
Read moreHad an awful experience here. My wife and I walked in, and the hostess just stared at us with a vacant look on her face, not saying a word. After a few awkward moments, I said, "Table for two, please." She didn't acknowledge me but started off to the dining area, saying, "Follow me" over her shoulder. She led us to the table, where she did a 180 and left us without saying a word. We sat there for five minutes while waitresses passed us by as if we were invisible. No one even offered us a glass of water or, for that matter, acknowledged our presence. After the five minutes was up, my wife and I stood up and walked out, leaving directly in front of the hostess, who, without uttering a sound, continued to give us that same blank stare. As I was going out the door, sorely offended, I said to her, sarcastically, "Thank you for the exceptional service." No response but the stare. A young man waiting tables outside overheard me and said, "I'm sorry, sir! I was just on my way." My wife and I said it was alright, got in the car, and drove the one mile to the Lobster Claw, where we enjoyed an excellent meal with great service. It wasn't the waiter's fault, and we don't blame him. He had probably been assigned too many tables, or any other number of problems had caused his tardiness. If we had just been treated respectfully and welcomed in a kind, cordial manner, along with some communication, and maybe an offer of something to drink, I'm sure we'd have been happy to wait a few more minutes. As it was, we were both "turned off" from the moment we walked in. Lastly, the menu is entirely different in the restaurant from what is online here. Oh well, at least we found a nice place to...

Cold, and extremely soggy to the point where you couldn't distinguish a shrimp from a fried clam. It literally looked like a wet pile of breading. We tried to muscle through it but it was too gross and we ended up throwing it away. On a positive note, the 3 teaspoons of coleslaw that came with it was very good. We were very disappointed.1.UPDATE SO i decided to give this place another shot , and got a seafood platter for 47 bucks. Let me tell you if I could give zero stars I would. Finally tried this place. Got 3 bowls of shrimp and lobster stew to take home. I live half a mile away. I had to microwave it because it was just mildly warm. Had an owerwhelming taste of butter, barely any seafood in it at all. To be honest I think they had enough for 1 bowl but since I ordered 3 they split it up. At 10 bucks a bowl I would expect to still have some solids in my bowl when it's still 3/4 of the way full but all i had left after a few bites was broth, very buttery broth. Left us very disappointed, still very hungry, and my tongue feels like I ate a whole stick of butter. A little advise for future reference..... if you dont have enough for more than 1...
