Edited to add: points are given/earned when you go in and work out, but only 1 protein drink can be redeemed every 30 days which is really stingy, and limiting when these are points a member earned and these protein drinks are at least $7 each so maybe after membership fees are paid, members can't/don't want to pay $7 per smoothie, it would be much better if redemption can be more frequent, after all, these are our points that we earned.
This ISFF location is most convenient for us to get to, but alas we don't come here as much as another location because the cardio machines tend to be down more here than at other locations. Some of the machines get used a lot and need more frequent maintenance so that's why I think they're broken quite a bit, because they're not getting cleaned (not just surface clean) and maintained as much as they need.
I used to attend the yoga classes here, but they got SO crowded that I don't try anymore, because I can't come 30 minutes before each class just to have a spot. It's unfortunate, because the classes are what CFF and now ISFF advertises as a big perk, but it's very hard to take advantage of that when the demand exceeds the supply of classes in both number of classes offered and the space for the number of students that the class can accommodate. Also the class times are limited (mostly in the mornings when people who work are working since not everyone's retired and have the time flexibility).
Staff is generally friendly here, and they do make good protein shakes from our experience, but sometimes there's only 1 or 2 staff for the whole gym and they have to pick up where the part-time only janitorial staff (there's not a full-time custodian here, but what looks like 2 part-timers who both only work about 4 hours each) leave off, so they may not have time to be attentive to members' needs or questions. This probably also explains why I've seen huge stains on machines where members have poured sweat like buckets of water especially on the stairs-steppers and elliptical machines, and then they either do not wipe up after themselves or do a cursory wipe and so sweat stains these machines and I think also drip into the gears and machinery parts of the equipment and then they break and are in disrepair for weeks to months.
The locker room at least the women's is usually quite clean, which I appreciate, I've not seen the wet floors, yucky stains, or messiness here as I have seen at the 2 Elk Grove locations (Bond and Laguna) and especially Natomas (super wet and yucky), but the sauna is co-ed and usually crowded, so I have never been able to use it. The kids club is quite nice for the about one-year that my kids went regularly 3-4 times a week, although the times were limited (only a few hours each afternoon/evening) and not available at all on Fridays or the weekends.
This location is a bit sketchy after dark, due to the neighborhood surrounding becoming less safe, unfortunately, so we try not to come late and have to leave in the dark. The parking lot theoretically should have enough spaces, but we've found during popular times there's usually not spaces close to the gym and have to park far towards Chase Bank or towards Dollar Tree. The parking lot may not be the safest, so be sure (like everywhere else, but especially here) to leave nothing visible in your car and double check that you've locked up. There are several eateries and a coffee shop close by that are all quite busy, and those patrons may not be friendly in the parking lot, so beware, not to mention I have to say there's been some aggressive driving/parking by gym...

The staff is cheerful and gung-ho. Always willing to help with and question, and lightning quick resolving problems (like a lost membership card).
Equipment is comprehenive: aerobic machines of all stripes (great for a former runner like me in need if catiledge-friendly alternative for running), a remarkable system of resistance mchines called âHoistâ which are aaaawe-some! Cable machines, free weights, kette balls, an aerobis class studio + an amazingly useful âcardio theaterâwhere youwatch a good flick while burning-off xmas excess. I also need to mention a series of eaily viewed large TV screeens near the cardio equipmen that allows one to wile-away the time watching programmed TV as a group, or watch individually on the TV screens attached to the machine you are using. Im a TV binger so I typically byring my iphone in and utilize their free wi-fi to watch shows i enjoy. Getting my entertainment fix while working-out deffinitely keeps me there longer, and keeps me showing up.
There are also lockers, showers, and more but I havent explored them that closely. There is a bar for juices and other products Ive never consumed. Apparently one-on-one training is available, but again, i have not used. I will eventually, but for now, what i DO use there is more than adequate and sure makes the experience enjoyable.
The clientel is very mixed in âcondition.â Many devoted, low-body fat athletes, but many more mom-types, and casual fitness seekers. Clients with limited mobility, physical challenges, work out right along side the rest of us, and it seems to reflect a healthy, no-judgement attitude/environment.
Oh, day care! Free day care for kids! As a dad, this is a must! What a gift, and a solution for parents in need of time to re-center, burn-off...
Read moreThis has got to be one of the worst locations Iâve been to. I usually donât go to this gym because Iâm not from this area but I have no choice. The employees are rude as hell. They never greet you when you walk in , at least they never greet me. I understand if the front desk is busy and I donât expect to be greeted under those circumstances but itâs the fact that this place is never really busy . the moment I walk in the employees are just talking with each other and I like saying hi , I always say hi but I was completely ignored and completely ignored when I left. So if employees are wondering why they get complaints from customers itâs most likely due to their own attitude. This place also smells like piss and sweat. Considering the place is never busy the employees could be spending that time cleaning and seeing what needs to be done. Please donât hire employees who arenât going to do their job and ignore the customers. Itâs disrespectful and annoying as hell. The employees at this location are lazy and have an attitude and I hope they know the impact that they have on customers. If I were anyone I would avoid this place...
