TripAdvisor phone help seemed SINISTER, trip was AMAZING!
We had an absolutely fantastic time on our boat trip on Wednesday, June 25th! It was truly a wonderful experience. We were thrilled to see numerous dolphins, including a mother with her calf, making for unforgettable memories.
Our guide, Marty, and Captain Alex were simply exceptional. They were not only incredibly knowledgeable, sharing fascinating insights about the local wildlife and area, but also had wonderful personalities that made the trip even more enjoyable. Their expertise and engaging demeanor truly set this tour apart.
We highly recommend this trip to anyone visiting Florida and will absolutely be booking with them again on our next visit!
While the boat trip itself was five-star, we did encounter a significant issue with the TripAdvisor booking process that we wanted to bring to light. When my wife called TripAdvisor's "booking questions" phone number to inquire about availability and some nuanced handicap accessibility, she was repeatedly and forcefully told there was "ZERO" availability for the next three days (our only time left in town). The representative continuously tried to redirect her to a different tour, even after my wife explained she was not interested in the different trip.
Frustrated, my wife eventually hung up and, on a hunch, checked the tour's website directly (without the question answered. To our surprise, she was able to promptly purchase four tickets for a boat trip departing just 15 hours later! Imagine our further surprise when we arrived to find the boat was barely half-full.
This experience raises some serious questions: Why would a highly rated, 5.0-star tour be half empty if there was "ZERO" availability? And what was the motivation behind TripAdvisor's phone agent so aggressively trying to steer customers away from this particular tour when their job was supposedly to help book FOR this tour?
We've already shared our concerns with Alex and Marty so they can relay this feedback to Sean, the owner. We hope this issue can be investigated, as it's a disservice to both this excellent tour company and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWonderful morning boat trip in St Augustine. The boat was very nice and comfortable and Cody and Mark did a great job. We sailed up into the historical area of St Augustine past nature preserves, the outlet to the ocean, several bridges and the old town itself. On the way we had a great guided narration. They really knew a lot about both the ecology and the history of the area. They spotted and pointed out a lot of wildlife to us in including a playful dolphin and a sea bird that they pointed out as it was circling, looking for a fish meal and then plummeted into the water to catch a fish. They also gave us a great historical perspective on the old town of St Augustine and how it evolved through the centuries and had some interesting historical tales. We had a wonderful time. The tour lasted about an hour and a half which was perfect and Cody and Mark were very competent but also light hearted and friendly. Also as a former paramedic I appreciated that they started out with a safety briefing before we left the dock. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who wants to see St Augustine from a different...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy family with two young kids took the St. Augustine Boat Tours Wildlife and History Tour in January 2021 and had a blast! We booked toward the end of the trip to St. Augustine, but recommend doing this at the beginning of your trip so you can go check out the places Captain Mike calls out. It was so fun to see historical landmarks from the water--especially the lighthouse and the fort! As we got closer to downtown St. Augustine, Mike told us about some haunted spots and recommended some night-time tours. From the boat, we saw some pelicans, TONS of jellyfish, and some other sea birds. We didnāt see dolphins, so weāll have to go back out when theyāre feeling more social! Both Mike and the other tour guide (I believe her name is Sarahā¦) were fabulous and held even my four-year-oldās attention. In fact, they let all four kids and a baby who were on the tour take a turn steering the boat, and each got a ācaptainās license.ā That was a really fun and personal touch! My kids pretended to be Capt Mike and Sarah the rest of the day, and have big dreams now of being professional tour guides when...
