Today I ordered Osprey tacos for my partner and I for lunch. We love going there since their tacos are INCREDIBLE: quality, ingredients, portions, price, flavor, customer service.... the last piece is what completely set them apart today. While getting ready to pick up our tacos, my partner called and told me he was in a 3-car-accident. I didn't hesitate to call an Uber to meet up with him. While on my way I remembered our order and I called Osprey to let them know we'd be quite late picking up our order as we had to wait for the Police to arrive to write a report etc. (Luckily everyone involved was okay). The most kind human on the other end at Osprey said not to worry at all and that they'd keep the tacos warm and ready for us anytime. They even offered to refund me if we wanted to. After a while had passed and we were still on the accident scene, Osprey called me back and said they were going to completely remake our order as soon as we were ready. This was above and beyond. When we were finally ready, I called in to let them know and we headed that way. Upon arrival everyone in their staff was SO kind, once again asking if we were all okay, sending good vibes, just really taking the extra mile to show support and care. Once home and decompressed we had a delicious meal to eat. The tacos here are just so good - beyond comparison to anywhere else in town. I wish I had gotten each team-members name who was on shift today but the woman working the register, the chef in the back, the manager... everyone was so kind and thoughtful and it really helped change the course of our day. Thank you Osprey. We cannot wait to come back for...
Read moreHad an amazing first experience here at Osprey Tacos! I was amped to try them after doing some research ahead of my trip to St. Augustine and stumbling across this small local joint which the unfamiliar passerby might blink twice and not even notice. I am a huge fan of a restaurant that can mix traditional menu items and put their own creative twist on typical cusine...IF they pull it off. Well, I am here to say, Osprey Tacos did just that. Service was fast, friendly, and the tacos were outstanding. We tried 6 a la carte (San Diego, Pork Fried Rice, Pollo Asado, Carnitas, St. Augustine, & Baja Fish.) I didnt have a single one that was not good, having tried all but the Pollo Asado, but if I were to rate in order of which 3 I'd have again, and which didn't make it into the repeats, it would be as follows:
Carnitas (delicious, flavorful, crispy pork...who wouldn't love that?) St. Augustine (crispy battered fresh shrimp this is like an any occasion snack right here) Pork Fried Rice Taco (East meets West in one of my favorite flavor combinations, Mexican and Asian cuisine) Baja Fish ( a tad salty for my taste, I think it was the guac but pretty delicious) San Diego (something got lost in translation for me, I didn't care for it that much)
Oh, and did I mention they have their own souvenir hats, shirts, and stickers? Great for remembering the food and the experience of your travels to this little quaint beach town.
I would suggest anyone come here for awesome food, local or tourist. You wont be...
Read moreWe’re so wanted to love these tacos - the reviews are great, our AirB&B host recommended them & they are conscious of gluten free needs. But the reality was far from that dream, I’m really sorry to say. We ordered take away & the app was super easy to use & mindful of allergies, which I loved. The order took about 15 mins & wasn’t ready by the time I drive up there, but that was fine, good things come to those who wait. But when I got them home again, it was clear that the corn tacos themselves had been rushed. They were either burnt on the outside or else they tasted like they had been taken straight out of the packet and a bit cardboard like. The inner ones were mostly breaking up. I think that latter point is due to them soaking up any sauce & that’s expected and why they double Taco them. My husband said the fish & special mahi tacos were bland. My daughter was so put off her tacos (carnitas Tex mex) that she was put off by them & couldn’t do more than just pick bits out. I had the shrimp (St A), Cuban and San Diego. The San Diego was delicious & the little finger fries gave a wonderful crunchy texture and was by far my favourite. All in all it was really disappointing and not what we were hoping for in our last night of our Florida holiday. We wanted to go out with a bang. More like a half hearted fix and pop. Sorry Osprey, you’ll need to up your game if you want us to recommend it...
