Blue Water Jewelers — Local services in Saint Augustine

I held off on writing this review for 6 months to make sure that I’ll be fair and won’t act on sheer frustration, but unfortunately hindsight didn’t make our experience any less infuriating.

We took my wife’s vintage watch to Blue Water to get it serviced and engraved. They engraved it nicely, but they weren’t able to get it to hold time correctly, so they sent it out for repair. Understandable, since it’s vintage, and we had no problem with that. For 6 months (!) we rarely heard from them, we had to call them every few weeks if we wanted to get an update. Eventually they called and let us know that the watch cannot be fixed and we can go ahead and pick it up.

When we got the watch back the back plate was so scratched up you could hardly read the engraving on it, one of the buttons on the side was broken and loose, and the safety chain was disconnected. When we complained they accused my wife of lying about the button and made her cry in the store (this still breaks my heart). They eventually made a new button for it, but told us we should be happy that they’re not charging for it. They buffed the scratches off the back plate, but this erased certain letters in the engraving. This didn’t bother them and they just handed the watch back like it was taken care of.

At that point we just wanted the watch to get back to the shape it was in before we took it to them for repair. The last time I called the store the sales person who picked up actually told me that he can’t talk to me because I’m a difficult customer and he has to get his manager. He said this to my face!!!

We trusted them with what was my 10 year anniversary gift to my wife, and they didn’t take care of us, and what’s even worse, they didn’t...

I stopped in Blue Water Jewelers today for the first time. They were offering a birthday promotion that I wanted to check out. I was pleasantly surprised and so happy that I went in. The staff were all kind and very helpful. The jewelry selection was larger than I expected. They had more variety and better pieces than the more well known jewelry stores I’ve been in. I am glad that I learned about this store from a friend, I had a great experience there today and will definitely be going back again in the future!

I wrote the above review 3 years ago, but wanted to come back to say how amazing this jeweler still is!! I recently decide to transform some jewelry pieces that I had received from my Grandma. They helped me create the most beautiful earrings and 2 gorgeous ring bands that I have ever seen! I was very nervous to start the process because I was concerned that I would regret making changes to my existing pieces, but Jessica helped me through it all. She walked me through the process step by step, and answered every question and concern that I had. She gave me multiple options, and helped guide me to what I was looking for. Blue Water Jewelers, and ESPECIALLY Kashmirr, were WAY, WAY beyond outstanding! For someone with two Masters degrees, I wish I had stronger words. My girlfriend (now adorable wife) and I were shopping for a distinct and unique design to serve as a single engagement/wedding ring with Ruby as a center stone for her. Blue Water just popped up as a quality option. We went and spent about an hour looking at designs and stones, before my wife happened to notice a ring design she absolutely loved, except it was yellow gold instead of her preferred white, and it had a black diamond in it instead of a ruby. As it turned out, Kashmirr CREATED that design and never pushed it on us! After seeing it, my gf put me in charge of the final product, and Kashmirr made it happen!!! We modified the design only slightly, she imported nine rubies for me to view (including one I chose from an independent dealer in NY), chose the perfect stone, rendered an image of the perfect setting and stone, and did that all and had a custom ring delivered inside of 3 weeks! Her excitement and tenacity throughout the process, a long with the support and backing of the store owners, made a very stressful process and very significant investment not just bearable, but enjoyable!!
