they are very incompetent when it comes to their vet for spay and neuter. We scheduled and appointment and they requested that we have to pay to schedule . We paid the fees had a surgery scheduled . A week passes by we get a call that they are not willing to do the surgery due to our dog having demerits. We contacted our vet and multiple other vets because something seemed off . Spoke with a vet that has done spay and neuter for 30 years and he told us we were fed a load a crap by an incompetent vet surgeon. One of the most simple surgeries and they aren’t comfortable doing something they offer . So we have wasted time and money being under a time crunch for the community rules we need to abide by to live where we are. This place is an absolute joke.
Management of Five acres should find a better Vet for their facility cause honestly most of the dogs are very skinny and most cats have eye infections or worse .HUGE red flag now knowing they don’t have a confident vet which should also be and indicator of the condition of...
Read moreI adopted a dog from this shelter a couple of weeks ago. When we came in, we described the kind of dog we were looking for and the staff at the front desk were able to suggest several dogs we could visit with. The process of adoption was very easy and they sent with us a tote bag filled with a few toys (especially ropes which they said were her favorite), enough food for a few days, her medication, a leash, collar, and harness; it was all unexpected and very helpful as we had not gotten many supplies beforehand. She came to us spayed, up to date on all her shots, in healthy condition, and medicated against fleas/ticks/heartworm. I would adopt from this shelter again. I can tell they care about...
Read moreWe got our sweet boy, Tucker, from Five Acres on Halloween Day in 2020. I hope he loves it here as much as we love him. He loves being the boss of the ranch -- well, he loves being the boss of pretty much everything! I do appreciate that Five Acres was looking out for his best interests in wanting to place him on a farm. Blue heelers love to work and have lots of energy to expend, and living here gives Tucker a job and lots of exercise. I will say, tho, that he doesn't NOT work the night shift. I've never seen a dog more scared of the dark than Tucker -- haha! We are grateful to his shelter buddy, Patti, for taking such good care of him until...
