Aaron's Rent To Own — Local services in Saint Joseph

Horrible experience with this store. We wanted to get a living room set and went in to inquire about a set. The guy helping us said that the one we were interested in was used but was reduced. We told him if we are going to pay for one we want new. He said no problem and one would be ordered. If it was not in on that Wednesday the 15th of May it would be the Wednesday after.

Well no word from then on the 15th so figured the following week. We ended up needing to go to a funeral and were gone for the week anyways. We wait for a call from them this week and nothing. So today we go to the store to inquire about why we have not heard from them. The guy looks around and cant find any paperwork on our request. He asked who assisted us and I pointed to the guy behind the counter. The guy quickly ducks into a office where the other guy goes to talk with him. After about 10 minutes the new guy returns and says that not only can they not find us but they dont lease to our town. I asked nicely since when because we have rented from them before. And he said with a bad attitude yeah that was probably 5 years ago before we changed it.

Overall the two men who assisted us were complete jerks. The first guy should have told us flat out then that they did not deliver to our town anymore. And the second guy could have been more tactful in his dealings with us. In the end most of our anger would have been put aside had they just called us 3 weeks ago and said sorry but our rep made a mistake and we dont deliver to your town anymore. Instead they left us in the wind for 3 weeks and would have been longer had we not went in to find out what was going on.

We ended up calling the Aarons in Liberty who by the way not only delivers to our town but will deliver as far north as Pattonsburg! And we tell them our experience with the St. Joseph store and they reveal that the St. Joseph store can do as they please as they are not a "official" aarons, They are a franchise branch that can set their own rules and pricing that differ from Corporate branches like the one in Liberty.

One last thing. The price for the set at St. Joe Aarons was 182/month with taxes and fees. The price for the EXACT same set at Liberty...118/month with taxes and fees. That is a savings of 1,536 over the course of the 24...

I wouldn't even give this store a 1 on service is awful. Firstly when I called them the phone kept disconnecting from there and they said they had bad service and I kept having to repeat myself. I gave them what references I had and they asked me if I had any local references and I gave them one or two local ones that I had. And they informed me that they were very busy and they did not know when they would be getting back to me at all I made 3 calls to this store and on the on the third attempt which was Monday I called him first on the second twice on the 3rd and then I called them the Monday after the third and I was informed that they did not have any of my information and they have no clue who I was and they had no idea where any of my paper what paperwork was. And they said I would have to come back into the store to read go through the whole process again. I asked them when I called them was this the way they treat a senior citizen very disrespectful and uncaring. I have not yet talked to a supervisor I just keep getting the runaround I do not recommend this store at all. They are horrible. and that is my opinion I have an income I informed them I am retired but to be treated like you're nothing is just not the way you're supposed to run a business

Still no resolution. They lost my application personal info is floating around I know this i was told my application is lost. Now im getting strange phone calls. Incompetence very sad....

Went in to get an expensive gaming laptop. They were eager to help UNTIL we told them we were out of town. After that, it just went downhill. I had filled out the proper paperwork and provided references. They called 2 of the references then it appeared they just gave up. They claimed they called them all and no-one else answered . I had the references waiting by the phone for them to call. NO CALLS CAME THRU! They swore they called. I give them another reference to call since people are at work. They got irritated and seemed like we were inconveniencing them. The manager told us it would take 2 hours to process. We leave and come back in about 2 hours. Again, he was irritated to see us and rudely said, "I said it would take 2 or more hours to process." We told them it has been 2, he disagreed. At this point, we were tired of being treated like an inconvenience so we walked next door to rent a center and got a better laptop within 5 minutes. Do I recommend the St. Joe Aaron's...
