This review was done by my wife, who doesn't have a Google account.

I had my hair done by Sindy. I wanted a balayge ombre because I didn't want to keep going to the salon. I'd only gotten my hair done four weeks ago and my roots weren't even a quarter-inch in length. My hair is natural level four or five, and I had level eight/nine highlights already in.

Sindy asked what I wanted, and I told her a haircut, balayge, and olaplex. She didn't want to put the olaplex in the color because it would take too much time. This was my first red flag. I showed her a picture of what I wanted my hair to look like, along with a video. But before I got to show her the video, she disappeared to mix the color without discussion of the specific color she was using -- another red flag.

She applied the color. Her lack of basic customer service skills came up again and no attempt at small talk was made. After coloring, she began cutting my hair, with my absolutely no discussion as to what I wanted. I am not expecting to have in-depth heartfelt discussions with a hair stylist, but they can at least ask their clientele about what they are looking for.

Not surprisingly given her lack of interest, the results were terrible. She didn't take small enough pieces and just applied color however she seemed fit, with no respect as to how the results would look on me. The highlights didn't match. At the root, the highlight was orange that faded out to platinum and then orange again at the tips of my hair.

I am a manager at my job and orange hair is not an acceptable look, so I called to that night to address these issues. She rescheduled me and I came in for a second time. Sindy admitted her mistakes and realized that she didn't keep the highlight on long enough to lift and that the darker color was done poorly, so she said she was going to fill it - but left again without discussing specifics about the color. She proceed to foil, and the results came out even more orange then the first time. She kept removing the highlight before it processed, so it didn't match the other highlights.

I called the next morning and the front desk said that she or the manager would call me back. I waited a couple of days and did not hear anything back, so I called again. Sindy called me back and left a voicemail. She was very rude and discussed in a condescending tone how "gracious" she was for "fixing" it the first time, and went so far as to blame me for the issue. I called the manager and since they are independently contracted that he is not able to do anything about it.

This level of service would not be acceptable from a $10 barber like Fantastic Sam's, much less a "prestigious" salon where the services cost hundreds of dollars. Needless to say, I will not be giving Hair District any more of my business, and am considering filing a fraudulent charge claim with my bank, as I do not think Sindy or the Hair District provided me the services that I paid for and the fact that they are unable (or unwilling) to address this issue is extremely...

Fantastic first experience, but a horrible second experience. My most recent experience will definitely make me reconsider ever visiting again.

My friend and I got our hair done by Suzanne. I had initially wanted to do a full head of bleach with a beige color afterward. When I had pitched this idea to Suzanne, she rejected it and said she could not do it. Which, to me, was completely alright. She encouraged me to do a balayage and I hesitantly agreed since I still wanted to get my hair done. The first mistake she made was not asking if I had any previous color left on my hair. I think she saw my bleached peak-a-boo dye and just assumed that it didn't have any color. Throughout our session, she kept slipping in comments about how there was no one she knew that could get me to the color I wanted initially and that it was impossible. Although I understand that Asian hair is hard to lift to a blonde color, I know that it is completely possible. I was even fine with coming back for another color lifting session but it seems like Suzanne was not keen about that idea or it near crossed her mind. At the end of my session, I was utterly devastated and disappointed with the results I got. My hair was THREE different colors. The top of my hair was a light blonde, the back was brassy, and my hair underneath still had many streaks of silver from my previous dye. She tried to pass it off as fine and even said that it looked good. She didn't even want to try to fix my disaster of a hair again and quickly moved on to my friend's hair. Now, although I was frustrated at this point, I was willing to just get it over with. That is until she talked bad about me to my friend behind my back. The complete unprofessionalism and audacity she had to do that should make her feel ashamed. She told my friend to talk some "sense" into me as I had no clue what I was talking about coming in and demanding that kind of hair. I have had my hair dyed numerous times by professionals and they have all succeeded in getting my hair to the color I wanted. If at any point in time, she told me that she could do nothing for me and that I should go to someone else, I would have gladly appreciated it. Instead, not only did she do a bad job on my hair, she talked about me behind my back. Although a refund cannot be issued, I hope that no one will ever...

Mary has been my hairdresser for four years. When I first came to Mary I had extremely damaged hair. Mary explained in great detail and to my level of understanding what would be required to bring my hair back to health (my damaged hair was not a ‘one-time’ sit down in the salon chair fix). With Mary’s expertise and guidance, I was able to bring my hair back to health quickly.

A second of Mary’s many strengths is her ability to decipher my wants and needs for my hair. Mary has to interpret my words and descriptions that are not considered salon terminology (confession: I don’t speak ‘hair’. I might be able to tell you what a hair layer is). From all of my interactions with Mary, her success rate is 100%.

Mary has always provided me with great color and highlights and often switches up colors giving me fresh looks throughout the year.

My experience with Mary has always been professional, reliable, and trustworthy. Mary listens to my ideas and concerns and asks questions to clarify her understanding. Mary will then bring her experience and knowledge to my appointment. She ensures I walk out of the salon looking my best. There is no doubt I will continue to be one of Mary’s very...
