Her Canvas LLC — Local services in Saint Paul

I had a negative experience with Her Canvas LLC and feel compelled to share it. On June 18, I booked a session at this studio for updated portraits of my elderly family members. During our visit, one of my aunts fell from an unstable chair and hit her head on the concrete wall, causing concern due to the potential seriousness of head injuries.

Hours after leaving, the owner sent a rude email accusing us of not cleaning up and threatening a $50 fee, which she demanded payment within 24 hours, insisting we return items to where we found them, which was unrealistic given the nature of a self-service studio where props are moved around naturally.

In subsequent emails, the owner continued to be rude and aggressive, even making inappropriate comments about how other family members that weren’t disabled could move her props across the room. She lacks clear instructions for customers regarding where items belong yet expected meticulous adherence to her undefined standards.

After explaining my aunt's injury, the owner knew that personal injuries and Her Canvas LLC liability issues was much bigger than the $50 fee she was hounding me for. She tried to call me without consent while I was at work, attempting to resolve the issue. This behavior was unwelcome and only added to the distress of the situation.

Given these experiences, I cannot recommend Her Canvas LLC. Potential customers should consider alternatives where they can expect better treatment and...

This was a great studio. Very well kept, clean. I booked Studio B and the simplicity makes any photo good. Lighting was great. Loved all the natural lighting this space gave. The Manager is very friendly. I reached out and asked if I could have more floral arrangements in my studio I booked and she was very flexible and gave me more then enough! Very kind when I couldn’t seem to find my way though the studio. As a beginner this experience helped me see how studio photography is and is great for any photographer no matter who advanced. We booked the studio for a few hours and had an amazing time! Gina was incredibly accommodating and easy to work with.

Highly recommend this place if you want to have a photo shoot. There is an area to get ready and change inside the studio, and bathrooms just down the hall way.

You can't control the weather, so having an indoor studio to take pictures will save you the headache of having to reschedule with everybody on a rainy day (we had 5 families - ain't no body got time to take family photos!). Don't hesitate to book...
