King Thai Asian Cuisine — Restaurant in Saint Paul

UPDATE: Since this restaurant had been re-open under new management, I thought I would go back and see if there's any improvement with this restaurant and I had to say the service is much much better now. All the new workers there are polite and seem very professional now, no longer do they had employees that would ignore you. The place also look cleaner and more decorated, waiters and waitress all greet and serve us without any problem and they no longer took too long to place our food.

Food were also serve much better as well, no longer do we had to wait half an hour long to get our food serve to us. I had to say this is quite a change and improvement over the older management team, getting in, waiting for a table, then waiting for the food and waiting to paid before leaving all process very smoothly. The bad service that use to be there are no longer there anymore and I say it's for the better. Food are also serve fresh now too whereas before this those usually felt lacking in quality. This is a welcome change and I hope it remains this way on my next visit. Keep up the good work King Thai.

OLDER REVIEW before the re-opening: I wish I could say good things about this place but nope everything about the bad service is true. My friend and I agree to give this place a chance since most of our relatives seem to like this place but man are we heavily mistaken. The workers doesn't seem like they are happy to be there, the place is not well clean. The outside and the entrance seem to smell of cigarettes which is not a good environment to bring kids to.

Took a while for them to find us a table and then the waitress who serve us just walk away not coming back to take our orders at all. We had to call to them again just to remind her and then after placing our order it then took almost an hour for our food to be made. Just a slow and terrible service. After that visit it's clear that this is one restaurant we surely will not come back. If you want to go to a restaurant that knows how to treat customer well and had quality service I recommend just go to Tayho or Bangkok Thai Deli a few blocks away instead. I have tried to order food from this place through Zing two days ago. Almost an hr after they opened, I had called and asked about my order status because the website still said that the restaurant has not accepted/confirmed my order yet (meaning, they are not working on my order). A young lady over the phone spoke to me and was very confident in saying that she did not see my order even after I gave her my name, my order number, and what I had ordered. I even told her to double check because I received an order number and it was just waiting for them to accept the order to begin processing…BUT, she told me to call Zing back because she didn’t see my order and that there was nothing she could do about it since she doesn’t see it. After we hung up, I did what any customer would do when a restaurant’s wasted their time. I ordered food from another restaurant near them (which went off without a hitch). I also contacted Zing’s customer service about this situation and was told that for some reason, King Thai has began processing my order and therefore I will not be getting a refund (huh, what a coincident). I then told the customer service person that I will be getting my bank involved if they (or King Thai) don’t issue my refund because King Thai was adamant that my order wasn’t on their system and because I never actually got any food from them…I was then told by Zing that they’ll get back to me in 24-48 hours with a resolution.

Well, It’s been 2 days and nobody has contacted me. King Thai has also refused to issue my refund on the website because they “prepared my food” so I will be giving my bank a call tomorrow to dispute this charge.

Never again, will I step foot in this place after being a loyal...

I've been here a handful of times. My first time coming here was very good and delightful. But throughout the years the taste, quality, and presentation of the food has deteriorated. The people are nice but the food is bad, and quite spendy for what you get.

The last time I went on 11/9/18 will definitely be my last time. I ordered the "Pho King" to-go which is supposed to include all meats plus seafood. My pho was very bland and tasted like all they did was add beef powder to the broth, nothing else. There was no taste at all. Also, I went to pick up my items within 10 minutes of ordering... and my broth was already cold?? How?!

On top of that, I ordered the Beef Nam Tak. This is my first time ordering this dish here. When I opened it, it looked as if it was old food... Yesterday's food that was preheated. Not fresh at all! As you can see, the beef is supposed to be cooked all the way through, but it looks raw... well it's because it's soggy, not fresh, and the cilantro has already started to rot inside. Plus, I got a stomach ache shortly after taking a bite to try it then I just threw it away.

It used to be good, but not anymore. Because of my last experience, I will never go here again. Spend your money elsewhere on University where you get some fresh food... not some leftover, preheated food to...
