The Antique Mall Ste. Genevieve — Local services in Sainte Genevieve

We were traveling and were excited to visit this place. Upon entering, we were very unplolitly told to put our purses in a locker...we had on very small travel purses. I said I'd rather not, and she was very rude about it, so we opted to leave. I am not sure if they were concerned about knocking things over or theft? But, someone had a dog in there.....and....I am not certain what I would even fit in that small purse....nor would I even steal. I have never felt more untrusted walking through an antique store, and we visit a lot of antique stores in many states and have never been treated like that. We were planning on staying in town shopping the area, but instead opted to move on since we were so...

The store itself is nice, however the staff themselves are harsh. The minute you walk in they demand you put your purse into a locker like you are a criminal. If I didn't drive so far I would have walked out. I was not a friendly experience. It would be nicer for your customers to invest in security cameras than treat prospective clients like thieves. This is a small town, they could walk and surveillance the store better than security cameras. Sadly this store is a joke. I asked about the policy when a customer with a small purse wasn't required to secure hers in a locker. I was told it was only policy for "large purses" last time I checked small things could...

First time being here, it was such a wonderful place and they did a great job renovating the place, antique stuff were all fairly priced and people were very friendly and welcoming. The big bonus part is the PJ's bar in the back, we met the owner Mr. Patrick and Ms. Gretchen interior designer, and Cindy,they were amazing people and the place has so much history in it, they have put in so much effort and detail to the place, it is just amazing and gives a cozy feeling! They patronize local artists and vendors which is an excellent thing. The coffee was great and the choco cake was a must-try!!! Definitely our new...
