If I had an Oscar to give, David McWherther would own it. Truly the singular most exceptional customer service I have ever experienced in my life. During a 35-year military career I lived in 8 different states and several foreign countries and did business with hundreds of merchants. None of them can compete with the service that David provided today. My wife bought a beautiful ring with a wide band and a lot of diamonds. She slipped it on her finger without too much problem. It was immediately stuck on her finger because of the width of the band. Overnight we tried all the Google suggestions without success. My wife called dozens of “jewelers” for help but none of them could. I happened to find the McWherther’s Jewelers website and a text message assistant popped up. Within minutes of sending a text message to their website, David McWherther responded and said he could probably get the ring off. I was surprised when he offered to do it on a Sunday afternoon if it was urgent. My wife’s discolored finger made it urgent in my mind, so we accepted David’s offer. He very carefully removed the ring and took every precaution to minimize discomfort to my wife. To get it off, he had to cut two pieces out of the band because it was so wide. We were both very relieved when the ring was off. I was dumbfounded when David said he removed the ring as a “service” and would not take any payment. The more I thought about his service and kind gesture I realized that David just earned two life-long customers for anything to do with jewelry. I called them on Jan. 6 and left a message with a question about my order. They didn't return the call. Next day I called them to find out that for some reason the manufacturing company did a mistake and sent them something that I didn't order. They didn't explain why they didn't notify me about the delay in delivery. No apology or discount was offered. I don't think they care. I will never come back. Terrible...
