I recently visited this theatre and was really disappointed with the service. I ordered a combo that included a drink, Bosco sticks, and popcorn. At checkout, the attendant gave me a ticket to present to another staff member in order to pay for my items.
When I approached the second attendant (Emma), I handed her my ticket, grabbed a cup for my drink, and was suddenly told there was an additional $7 charge. I explained that I had ordered a combo, which includes a drink, but she insisted, “No, you pay for the drink.” I was completely confused and had to call over the first attendant just to clarify.
He told me, “You need to tell them you want a cup.” Seriously? I ordered a combo that includes a drink—why wouldn’t I want a cup? This process is incredibly disorganized. The employees seemed confused, indifferent, and made no real effort to resolve the issue. In the end, I paid the extra $7 just to move on, but the experience left a bad taste.
To make matters worse, my sister had ordered fries and nachos, and they never arrived. We waited, thinking maybe they were just backed up, but 30 minutes into the movie, I had to leave the theatre to find out what was going on. I ended up running into the attendant who was finally bringing our food. The fries were cold by the time I got them—not exactly the movie snack experience we paid for. And to top it all off, the ranch that came with the food tasted expired. It had a sour, off flavor that made it inedible.
This kind of disjointed service shouldn't be happening. Staff need better training, and the whole system needs to be streamlined. As it stands, it’s frustrating, unprofessional, and really takes away from the...
Read moreI'm never going back to a regular theater, at least not if there's an option to go here. This is a better experience than other theaters in every way.
The seats are more comfortable than living-room recliners. While in most theaters I find my long legs jammed up against the railing in front of me (because choosing to sit behind seats would just be cruel), at Emagine I can not only stretch out and get comfortable, there's even a motorized footrest.
While conventional wisdom says to avoid the front row at all costs, the chairs here recline enough that there are no bad seats in the house. The armrests are wide enough to sit next to strangers without getting too uncomfortable, and you can whisper in your neighbhor's ear without distracting anyone else. The seats are spread-out enough vertically that you never have to worry about someone's big head blocking your view.
The food is outstanding, well ahead of any other theater food I've had. They offer real butter on their popcorn, and let me tell you, once you've tried that, you'll never look at other popcorn the same way. There's restaurant-quality hot food, and they even deliver it right to your seat.
If I have one gripe, it's that the food-ordering area can be a little hectic, but I've experienced much worse at other theaters, and with everything else being so good, that's...
Read moreWe used to LOVE coming here. But the last 2 experiences (today and a week ago) were just... why would we bother? Last week it was my daughter and I. We ordered food for during the movie. None of it was even edible. $75 of food and it came without any silverware to eat it with, the fries were burned and salted so heavily, the taco salad was- I don't know what it was. The chicken fingers were cardboard. There was no ice in the machines and half of the slushies were out.
Today I brought my daughter and 2 of her friends hoping that if we just ate before we came it would be fine. Again- no ice for the drinks. The only slushies that were available were the cherry- none of them wanted that. I ordered the refillable popcorn bucket (that was displayed) and was given a bag of popcorn and told that they don't have the buckets. The bag immediately spilled while we tried to get drinks. The girls picked out candy and I paid for it. As they picked up the candy, the cashier noticed that she missed one and wanted to then ring up ANOTHER order for a bag of m&ms. So- $60 for tickets, another $60 for candy and they still can't get it figured out making us late to the movie.
I can get these movies on our firestick. We liked the experience of going to the movies. But it isn't...
