Ashton G and a few female associates like to racially profile and discriminate against people. Craig is the president, correct? Is this what he meant by equality and not tolerating discrimination or racial profiling? My kids and I have experienced racial profiling by him and now 2 new employees twice in 1 week. He purposely has targeted us twice, yesterday did it because they targeted my 12 year old son who was simply helping straighten my $5 bill because it didn't work for me at the lotto machine. She comes and says my son is doing illegal things and needs to stop. Ashton comes and stands by us and I told her he's helping fix it and why are yall over here targeting us when clearly I am standing here and she saw I was having trouble and she says it doesn't matter it's illegal and you can't do it. Please tell me where to find it's illegal to try to straighten a crumbled bill! So at that point I had it I went to the service desk to ask for their names to make a report and the rep got an attitude as if she was a victim especially after I told her the young manager keeps profiling my family and I. She walked off said she's getting another manager, not giving names and slammed the service door behind her. So I didn't wait I walked to her and informed her it's ok I will find out myself and left the store with my groceries and kids who were very upset. My kids went back later and purchased some snacks and found out his name was Ashton and he was their checker. When they approached he could clearly see they had items to check out says what's the problem now? Are you kidding me all they were doing is checking out! He creates problems and the problem. He and the other employees that we experienced this from these past few days are a HORRIBLE representation of HEB and NOT CONDUCIVE to this business! Ashton and the other 2 women who all happen to be Caucasian are a liability and clearly about to cause a civil lawsuit. Lawsuits cost more money than they make! Then experiencing how they team up to target you is disheartening. Unfortunately speaking up makes you the perpetrator and gets overlooked. When will people stop enabling racist behavior? When others have spoke on the racism and profiling. You have NO CLUE how upset and distressed/disturbed you made my children and I feel and something needs to be done immediately. Stand on business and ethics because your employees' lack of professionalism is an issue. I wrote this review as evidence to see if we would be retaliated against for simply being black shopping and/or speaking up for yourself as evidence. My kids and I shouldn't be uncomfortable and on guard because even minding your own business causes people like Ashton and other staff to try to make you a side show or target. It's embarrassing and uncalled for. My kids nor I will never be a doormat or your circus. Clearly they see nothing wrong with their actions and neither does anyone else because they are still employed 🙄 😒. I don't by any means think their conduct equals equality or proper representation...
Read moreThis evening 11/22/24 while at HEB Shopping. Went in and needed a drivable cart because of surgery and have a difficult time walking. The manager asked one of his employees to get an electric cart for a customer. She went out with the customer got on the cart, got on it and started driving around. Smirking and driving it right in front of him where he had to stop. Seemed to come close to hitting the customer or one of his grandkids. She seemed to have been playing on it. Got in his way when he was going to get a cart after she took the one closest to him. The customer there with Grandkids got a cart that seemed to be low on battery. While taking it back to have it changed out she then said here you can have this one. The customer and his grandkids then got on that cart and went to shop at this HEB. Most ridiculous situation I have ever seen. HEB had all the carts where the customers had to walk all the way to a locked door to get one. The door to the left if standing in front of HEB. A customer struggling to walk and make it to the cart, had to deal with an employee looking to just ride it. Sad display! Wow, what a terrible way to deal with a customer that needed that cart. It is unknown whether the employee though she was being funny, rude, or, just didn't think. I'm thinking she didn't care. If a customer would have started bleeding or fallen, HEB would have been in a terrible lawsuit. As a customer who spends hundreds of dollars a year at HEB Grocery stores I find the behavior to be uncalled for. She should have said here you go at the beginning and assisted the customer. It wasn't until the customer got a problematic and went back to exchange the cart she decided to offer the customer and grandkids the cart. There have been several rude employees at this specific store over the years. The manager did ask the employee to get the cart and directed her over to the customer. This is a manager that has been at this store for quite a bit of time. A manager who has proven that customer service is very important. The employee needs to take a step back and look at this situation as a learning tool for the future. Anyone could end up in a situation where they cannot walk and needs an electric mobility scooter to do basic chores as shopping. Customers are the bread and butter...
Read moreI really enjoy shopping at HEB. What I mainly like is the nice selection of fruits and vegetables, grass fed and organic meats, and organic dairy products. Hidden along the aisles of HEB is a very wide variety of organic and all natural products.
The fruit and vegetable section is expansive, has nice wide aisles, and has a very wide variety of fresh, beautiful produce.
I like the meat market, as you can find grass fed beef, organic products and lamb. The meat is excellent.
The shopping experience at HEB is pleasant. The workers in HEB are cheerful and helpful. HEB does a good job in hiring people as they are all very helpful.
WHAT COULD BE IMPROVED:
It is very hard to get in and out of the HEB parking lot. No good places where there is a traffic light to make it easy to get in or out from the busy streets. The parking lot is hard to navigate and crowded. Many parts of it are sloped, making it hard to get your groceries out of the cart and into the car without the cart running off.
I liked the previous layout of the "Central Market" area of the store better. Initially it was a wide aisle that made it friendly and inviting to go down, looking for the various healthy products in the bins. Now the ailse has been narrowed, and it is much harder to find what you want, and you constantly feel like you are in other's shoppers "space" as you all are looking for what you want. I wish HEB would expand the central market aisle, offer even more organic and health food options, and get rid of some of the silly parts of the store. I do not need to buy notebook paper, office supplies or junk like that at a grocery store. Get rid of the non-grocery nonsense, and add more natural and organic products.
BOTTOM LINE:
I love...
