Love love love this place!!!! I had the Hibachi stir fry with beef and the Scandinavian Roll with Eel sauce it was all to die for!!!!! My son had the Pork Bulgogi and the Spider Roll!! Absolutely the best!! You get good portions while eating in but if you order it to go I feel like you get about half or a little over half of the actual bowl size if you had eaten in. Example of this is that I ate in and ate half of my Hibachi bowl then got the rest to go and that half barely fit in their to go container but the next time I ordered it to go and picked up and it was the same size to go container filled up but yet my half eaten had filled it up last time so I feel like we're losing some if get it to go. It was still great though just felt that if you get half maybe pay a little cheaper but if I pay same amount then feel should get the same amount. They need regular to go containers not the size that fits a sub or hotdog lol. But would definatly recommend this place!!! I wish I could eat here every day!!! Also I will say that for myself and my son with what we got above plus drinks I paid 40 something dollars close to 50 so make sure you are expecting that. Also sodas cost per soda so best not to get the soda, it's a can soda. And I wouldn't go during the rush hours like lunch and dinner cause may wait to be seated. UPDATE: They did get normal to go containers, awesome! And now they have fountain machine and you get refills for free!! So this #1...
Read moreBEWARE BEWARE BEWARE!!! HORRID I was really excited to get to try out this restaurant based on all of the reviews although remaining a bit skeptical simply because of where it is located. I got there and there were 2 waitresses who spent most of the time making jokes and snickering at people under their breath which I found absurd and also COULD NOT TELL ME HOW FRESH THE FISH WAS. The place was just dirty and smelly and had a grimey feel to it right off the bad. I ordered a Salmon roll and crab roll. The crab roll was HORRIBLE, Fake crab meat in sticks, poor quality seaweed, poor rolling, and just nasty. The Salmon roll smelled like the Boston fish market at 3pm in July, was barely cool not even cold, and I opened it up and it just was rank so I wouldn't eat it. I told the waitress that this was unacceptable and I would be leaving and she promptly charged me at the front, after snickering with her contact worker, and acted as though I had spat on the floor when she should have.been apologizing and wiping the ticket out but I paid it and left never to return. I am still shocked at all the great reviews. I simply do not understand that but this is the absolute worst sushi and one of the worst restaurants period I have ever been to and frankly should have just gone to golden coral or something and avoided the...

I came here in the middle of the week, and like always, Nakamura Sushi House did not let me down. This place is a regular spot for my family. My dad always gets the Kobe beef short ribs, which are tender and full of flavor. My mom usually goes for a couple of sushi rolls with Unagi, her favorite, and she never has complaints. I personally love starting off with the miso soup and the house salad. The soup is warm and comforting, and the dressing on the salad hits the spot every time.
Me and my dad also enjoy sharing a tall hot sake, which pairs perfectly with the rest of our meal. My go-to dish is the chirashi, always fresh and beautifully presented. I do wish they offered sake don on the menu, but maybe one day they’ll honor a request for it. It’d be a dream come true.
The owner is one of those rare restaurant owners who still makes time to check in with his guests. He’s a kind man who clearly takes pride in his business, and that energy shows in the service and atmosphere.
If I had to nitpick, I’d say the wasabi isn’t the freshest. But that’s such a small thing compared to how good everything else is. Still a full 5 stars from me. If you’re in San Angelo and craving Japanese food, this...
