Went to get my acrylics soaked off and gel put on, and as genuienly nice and attentive as the staff was, the person who took off the acrylics did such a terrible job that a majority of my nails are damaged and one (right pinky, imaged) is filed so thin to the point of constant pain and any length it grows immediately breaks off. I genuienly cannot tell where the skin stops and the nail begins, as its just so thin and red. The gel itself was applied relatively well- save for the parts over the incredibly over files nails, on those nails, it seemed to come off in layers within days.
Pictured, you can see “rings of fire”, which are present on just about every nail. They severely over filed my nails and, upon asking them to stop because it was GENUINELY hurting, they said they had to continue because not all the product came off. I pushed, they agreed to soak for a bit longer, and it got the rest off.
The day I went, a few staff members had expirenced emergencies, which caused a delay in service. This didn’t bother me terribly, but they did give me a discount for the delay. At the time I appreciated and accepted it, but I did not realize the extent of the damage until days later when it still hurt. I went back in for them to fix a few of the chipping nails, as they do advertise a 7-day nail warranty. They did so happily and without charge, but when I asked about possible damage, I was brushed off.
The salon itself is a very cute one with sweet staff members. Multiple people worked on me, but only one had the e-file and caused the damage. They rectified one issue but ignored another. Read moreI tried this place out only because my regular nail lady closed down her shop and this one was close to home. I went for fills on a Wednesday and told the guy some were lifting. He said the powder “will fix it”, I insisted that he needed to cut off what was lifting (I’ve been getting my nails done for 20 years), and then apply the powder, not once did he mention anyghing else. I get home that evening and my nails were lifting once again. I was unable to go Thursday so I show up this morning (Friday), first customer at 10:03am and explain to him the situation and he then has the nerve to say it’ll be $5 for each nail! He then goes on to tell me it’ll be an hour wait before he can get to me because there’s an appointment coming for manicure/pedicure. While there she did show up and immediately went to Mimi in the back room. Jason however did not have anything to do or any else waiting. He just didn’t want to deal with the problem he made. Long story short, he never said “oh let me try and fix it”, especially since I just paid $35 which included the “design”....that “design” was just a little bit of glittered nail polish. Especially when he started to change his tone. I changed my tone as well because I felt threatened. NEVER GOING HERE AGAIN! And heads up, I’m blasting them on social media because I can and because if you’re not even going to try and make it right and at least try to make the customer happy, he needs to learn how to do nails right and get some customer service skills! I went there every other weekend for a year and Mimi became stand offish when she was asked to do eyelash services (as if she doesnt advertise that she does lashes). When a customer is paying full price she should never feel like she's bothering the patron to provide the service. Mimi had a bad attitude and would let people that were getting nail service cut before me. After awhile I stopped going out of frustration. Unfortunately for me a friend had gotten me a gift certificate for my bday last year bc she has known me to be a faithful customer. I didn't want to waste her money so I went recently just to get a fill and even after many months had passed her and her husband were STILL disrespectful and unprofessional. Not going to lie, it hurt my feelings bc I was such a loyal customer and did nothing to them to deserve this treatment. I would not recommend their nail shop. There are so many others in the area that value their customers!
