Tried a Hawaiian and a pepperoni. Overall I’d say it’s equal to Dominos. I’ll qualify that by saying even though I’m from Philly with lots of family in North Jersey, I actually like Dominos from time-to-time (don’t tell them). The reviews saying it’s the best pizza or even great pizza have me twisted. It’s not bad pizza but it isn’t the best in San Antonio and not really even the best within 5 miles of this location. Anyone who has eaten pizza almost anywhere else on earth probably has had equivalent or better pizza.
Ordered via Doordash. I wanted to blame the room temperature pizza on Doordash but found the breadsticks to be hot so it appears to be the restaurant’s timing issues.
Opened the box to find that “crispy” meant undercooked toppings on an over cooked crust. It took me a minute to figure it out but I’m guessing the crust has a ton of sugar in it. That would explain the excessive browning before the pizza actually cooked. The gluten in the dough isn’t fully developed either giving it more of a white bread consistency vs traditional pizza crust.
The sauce isn’t bad. A lot of sauces are too sweet and this sauce is nicely balanced.
The toppings are just ok. Nothing magical or special here.
As stated above, it isn’t bad. But I paid $45 for breadsticks and 2 pizzas. I would have paid closer to $30 from Dominos and gotten a more consistent bake and essentially the same food.
Someone could argue that the specialty Tex-mex inspired pizzas are where they shine but if you can’t get back a pepperoni pizza right, why would I trust you with a $25+...
Read moreI got a coupon in the mail and thought it would be a great opportunity to try a new pizza place, something I love to do. When attempting to call in my order however, the clerk couldn't verify if I could select my own toppings then the coupon. After giving the phone to her manager he listened again and said okay and agreed to take my order of custom toppings. So I said thanks and asked if I could order my pizza now. He said yes, then when I tried he inturuptes me, with "I need to have someone else take your order right have to go" and hands it off to the clerk again. Then again, the rules changed, the clerk informing me that I had to order a pizza from the menu. Confused I agreed, and selected a Patron. When I asked if I could at least remove a topping from the pizza I don't like, and add another if I pay extra, she said YES. So I say "hold the hamburger, add jalapeno." After waiting at the drive through and getting home not only is it a standard Patron with hamburger, there are no jalapenos.
A rather disappointing introduction to this pizza chain, and while I would like to say I hope they can do better next time, I don't know that they deserve...
Read moreTonight was a very poor visit at this location. I pulled up to the drive-through window with one car in front of me. The car in front was just putting in her order and parked at the drive-through window. I called the restaurant and asked them to ask the car in front to drive around and park in the main parking lot - the person on the phone said he could not do that. He reported if they order at the drive-through window, the person can park there until they get their pizza. Consequently, the drive-through window lane would be blocked for up to 20 minutes. So, they told me go around her and come into the restaurant to pick up my pizza. Why the lady in front of me couldn’t park in the parking lot until her order was ready is still a mystery to me. Additionally, I asked to have the pizza unsliced to keep the grease from seeping through and making the crust all soggy - the staff sliced the pie, and the crust was drenched in grease when I got home. The pizza was awful. Suggest you get pizza elsewhere. This place has some serious staffing and...
