The music is pretty much unbearable. Many of the people who have gone there have seemingly purposely shook their keys ( like anywhere from 5-10 people), as I walk from my car to the store ( not far). While some people have recently been nice, many of the check-out people have been bizarrely rude & noisy. Most of this would take a lot of explanation, but here is one ( not the worst) example: this woman in front of me starts talking to me. She is friendly, & isn't making noises, so I listen to her advising me on everything from how to get rid of my raccoons, to what bank I should use, to Suing my Bank, & how her bank app works. The raccoon part interested me, in the beginning. As she's telling me what to do, where to buy a trap, etc, the HEB clerk says loudly, "Oh, I LOVE your last name!!! It's So Pretty! I've always wanted to...." At this point, I turned back to listen regarding any wisdom about raccoons. I like my name, but it isn't fancy-sounding, like Teagarden, Von Tress, Kardashian, etc. WHY was it So Important for her to interrupt me from listening to this other woman? It was plainly RUDE--- I think plainly designed To Be rude. Another time, I HAD to go to customer service for something. One guy started Playing the Drums (!) as soon as I walked up, with about 8 other people, & it was pretty obvious that they were aware of how much noises can literally TORTURE me. That is my gripe about San Antonio: they like to pretend that they don't know you are in GREAT pain. You can be walking as fast as you can to get away from them, and they just pretend to Never get how much pain they are causing you ( & by extension, my children, when they were younger). It is OUTRAGEOUS. I honestly think it looks like they are auditioning for places in a mafia, demonstrating their capabilities, their total lack of morality or concern for their victims, etc. Only in the last year have there not been Many people shaking their keys, Every time I went to the store. Even the pharmacists have been Shockingly Noisy. It's SCARY! If you can tune out the Shockingly painful music, and Shockingly juvenile & RUDE employees, the lemonade & shrimp are pretty good. The parking lot is also nice, although one wonders WHY they are tearing it up & redoing perfectly normal asphalt. If it were on Law & Order, I guess you'd assume that that's where the dead bodies are. Maybe one of the managers is a writer, and he needs help imagining his murder mystery. It's creepy! It doesn't smell, though. The one nice thing I might could say is that they have photos of the managers. They look kind & respectable. When I called about yet another clerk's odd ways, while in the store, though, the manager on duty was actually Shockingly rude. It really is a strange, mean,...
Read moreShocking Racial Profiling! (If I could, I'd put 0 stars!) Myself, my husband & our family are regular customers to the HEB stores & I was appalled to hear how my husband was treated in this location this morning just by being a black male with a black jacket & black/yellow hat on shopping for his breakfast items before heading to work. He was approached in the cereal aisle by an associate asking if he needed any help with anything. My husband replied politely "No thank you". My husband continued to shop for the remainder of the items he needed and noticed he was being followed by the same associate who approached him asking if he needed help. My husband at first brushed it off because he had a minimal amount of time before having to be at work, but after being followed into the 3rd aisle by the very same associate; he began to be frustrated as any of us would feel. My husband asked the associate if there was a reason he was following him and instead of responding in case of being mistaken the associate rushed off to the back of the store where employees only have access. My husband immediately went to checkout with his items and asked the cashier for a manager. The cashier asked if there was a problem. My husband informed her that he shops at the store regularly when commuting to clinic where he works, pays for every item he gets & didn't appreciate being followed by an employee just because of the color of his skin & by having a black jacket with a black/yellow hat on (keep in mind it is cold outside). The cashier got a manager over but not before noticing that the manager waved the associate whom was following my husband to stay in the back area. My husband told the manager the same thing he told the cashier & the manager acted as though she was shocked, she apologized & asked for the description of the employee which my husband gave to her even though he already witnessed that she knew who did it & what he had done. After hearing this we are thinking twice about spending our hard earned money at any of HEB's establishments again! Customers are one of the main components that keep a business thriving, so why treat your customers in such a manner? Everyone should be treated equally no matter race, sex, or...
