We have been enjoying this Las Palapas location for over a decade. I know the retail and restaurant industries have been hit hard this year. I have also worked in both of those industries and understand the frustrations and difficulties that come with both. All of this being said, the experience we had today was appalling. I know the drive-thru can get extremely busy at this location. The drive thru tonight was not nominally busy. I pulled up to the speaker and heard silence I waited, and waited, and waited. I then gave a cheery, “hello!” I did this three more times with no response. Since the screen was dark. I assumed it was a broken speaker and pulled forward. When I arrived at the window, the drive thru attendant essentially asked quickly if I had a specific order. When I said a calm and kind “no”, they proceeded to cut me off and SNAP at me that THEY HAD JUST TAKEN CARE OF SIX OTHER CARS AND THST I SHOULD HAVE WAITED AT THE SPEAKER. They also proceeded to tell me it would be fifteen minutes for any order. Which never would have bothered me. They seemed extremely unhappy to be working and extremely unhappy with the audacity of a customer at their window. I never complained, didn’t have the chance to speak. I calmly drove to another location and will not be returning or recommending this location whatsoever. I have been helped by this individual for several years so I suppose tenure allows them to take out all their frustrations on a customer who made an innocent error and would happily and calmly have waited. Save yourself the trouble and find another location with employees who are able to calmly and effectively...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I would. In the past three weeks I have been to this location four times and each time was worst than the last. Drive through is an instant out if you need your order quickly. Each time I have had to wait over twenty minutes to get my order and that is just flat out unacceptable. No one should have to wait that long for a drive through, you should be in and out of there 5-8 minutes max, and the food is decent at best so it's not like waiting would be worth it. The window is also blacked out so you cannot see what they're doing or even get their attention after a while. The staff is very unfriendly, and clearly does not take customer feedback to heart as there has been no improvement in their customer service, especially in their drive through window. When I respectfully made the manager aware of this, she didn't offer me a discount, gift card, or even a free drink. Nothing at all to make things right. She just said "okay" and "thank you sir" clearly having the "spit at me as I leave" kind of attitude. There are many other Las Palapas locations in San Antonio that offer better food, better ambiance, and most importantly, much better customer service. Something has to give with this location because it just isn't working and more people will experience what I did if things don't change. If you want good Mexican food, do yourself a favor if you're reading this... DO NOT COME HERE. There are many better options in San Antonio. This location is at the bottom of the totem pole and then some. I am never giving this location another cent...
Read moreI come to this location often on Sundays when I pass between Boerne and SA - normally the drive though. I’ve experienced a range of quality depending on how busy they are - I sometimes feel they rush and don’t have melted cheese, have a small amount of filling or they have forgotten to add bacon for example. A couple of time I’ve ordered bean and cheese and bacon and there was no bacon when I came home. That bothers me because things are already expensive as they are, but don’t leave out something I pay for. The last time this happened in October 2024 I wrote a message on the comments site shown on the receipt. I wanted them to be aware this is the second time this has happened with my daughter’s and my tacos. I got a call back from Robert the manager the next day and he was apologetic and sincere and offered me 2 free bean and cheese and bacon tacos and a drink next time I came. He left me his cell number to text the next time I came by. About a month later I came back and decided to test it. I texted when I got to the drive though and he remembered me and said my tacos were being prepared and that he personally checked to ensure the bacon wouldn’t be forgotten. He actually gave me the whole order of 4 bean/cheese/bacon tacos for free and I simply had to drive up and accept it. I always try to allow the manager to make things right before I complain in public and that’s what he did so kudos to Robert for remembering and keeping his word on a very busy Sunday afternoon. The tacos had their bacon and plenty of beans and...
