I've been to my fair share of Michael's stores last week I went to three in one day, searching for a knife blade for my Cricut. This Michael's was the first that I tried. This one isn't my usual location but it was the first on my way home from work. Let me tell you, this Michael's is sad from the start. Walking in, you immediately notice that it's small and dark. The size wouldn't matter so much but I don't know why it's so dark?? It just set my shopping experience off to a bad start.
I'm the type of shopper that goes in for one thing and leaves with ten others. I tried at this place but it just seems so rundown. The cricut selection was bare. Of course they didn't have the blade + housing that I needed, despite the website saying it was in stock. I asked the only employee that I could find for some help, which happened to be the cashier. She seemed willing to help. What I found odd was that she whipped out her cell phone, maybe to look at the website? She told me what aisle the blades should be on, to which I told her I had already looked... Then, she said she would contact someone in the office because "sometimes they keep things like that in there". She then proceeded to, I'd imagine, text someone in an office somewhere in the store. Not three seconds later, she tells me that "No we don't have it, everything we have is in the aisles". Ok.....?? Anyway, I go on my merry way to the next Michael's and have better shopping experiences.
Unfortunately, I've gone to this Michael's on several occasions and that experience wasn't an isolated one. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit it. I'll only go back if I...
Read moreYikes! I just picked up an order of acrylic paints and normally I go into the store but today I needed to do it curbside. When I received my order, I saw that two of the five paints I purchased were missing so I had to go inside and ask someone where the rest of my order was. I asked the first girl I ran into about my order (she was nice) however, she had to consult with her manager. She tried contacting the manager but she seemed to have a delay in coming out of her corner office to talk to me for some reason. When she finally did she looked annoyed. She then took my order number down, and then looked around and found one of the paints I ordered just sitting on the counter. She had to go and get the other paint I purchased off the shelf. When she returned with the missing paint she just said here you go. I was a little baffled at the lack of explanation or apology for the inconvenience as to what happened, so I asked why would this of happened and she gave me the strangest explanation. She mumbled something about the computer saying I ordered it 12 days ago and when I said, I just ordered it last night, she responded with “yeah, these computers have a mind of their own” then walked away to talk to someone else. Still No apology. I don’t know if I woke her up from a nap because incidentally I got that impression of her but I digress. Unfortunately, the lack of any customer service from a manager no less astounds me. I guess I’ll stick to...
Read moreI have never felt the need to write about my experiences until I went to this michaels today. I went in to get some t shirts to decorate and I saw a coupon on the app that said it could be used in store and online. I went to the check out and was rudely told that I had to have a barcode on my coupon in order to use it. I showed the cashier and the manager that it said I could use the coupon in store and they both rudely said that I had to have a barcode. I bought the shirts and once I got to my car I decided to go back and return them because I was so angry about how I was treated. I ended up calling their customer support line to share my experience and got no help. It was obvious that the customer service people did not know what they were talking about and would keep changing their response to the same questions. They claimed I had to email a screenshot of their own website even though they said that they were on the website and were able to see where I saw that the coupon was available in store. After over an hour and a half on the phone with both a representative and a supervisor I still had no answers and was told that they would have the store manager call me about my experience. I said I didn’t want to talk to anyone from that store and they said they could have a district manager call me. Overall, it was just a terrible experience and I will never go back to a Michaels store knowing how little they care about...
