It can be a hit or miss. This place was amazing when it first opened, we were regulars and the owner (a nice woman who was there everyday) knew our order to a “T” whenever we walked in. Loved the place. After she left to the other location, this place took a nose dive. Food was terrible and restaurant was stinky. We avoided the place for about two years. We’ve started coming there again this past year and it’s gotten better. Not back to the standard of the opening year, but decently good. The fried rice doesn’t have much flavor (in my opinion, also I had covid last year so idk who to blame on that lol). Everything else seems to be okay. Sometimes you get weird bone or cartilage in a piece of chicken, it’s random and happens at a lot of Asian food places. However, they chop veggies in house (not frozen) and the chicken looks fresh (doesn’t look like it came in frozen when I’ve seen them prep. They also can never choose which to-go boxes they use. They either use the big white styrofoam boxes (which they pack more food into, by a lot)... or they use the small plastic containers that have two compartments (significantly less food). I hate that. Have one standard and go by that, I feel cheated when they use the plastic containers.
All in all, the quality varies at this location. You never know what will end up on your tray. It’s usually good.
Edit Nov2022: Prices are also steadily increasing: $8.95 for the 11am - 3pm lunch special (which used to be the dinner price), and the new dinner prices are...
Read moreWe went to this amazing place because I wanted Chinese food and in Laredo, everything is horrible for Chinese choices. We came here after saying goodbye to my father in law because he had recently had brain surgery and is doing well after that. Being a native to Laredo and never leaving the city much. I wanted to look around San Antonio but we were hungry. We ordered our food and ate there which we don't dine in at all because of the pandemic. We got our appetizer, our soup and our main food. I thought it was so little but it turned out to be so much more than my eyes were letting on. I watched as the kitchen was working like a well oiled machine. The food came out so hot temperature wise that it burned my mouth which I liked. Usually what most Chinese eateries do is cook a lot of food and let it die on the steam table. Yeah they had their soups and the sides but the main entrees were fresh. I loved the wok hay flavor of the lo mein noodles and the fried rice actually was cooked and had flavor unlike the places in Laredo. The food was so good that we ordered to go and took it back to Laredo. Of course it wasn't as best as it was inside the restaurant but it was levels above what we have here. I even bought the shirt and hat they sell there. That's how much I loved the place, I wish I could have filled in the vacancy sign they have for cooks but unfortunately I don't live in...
Read moreYesterday I placed an order at 2:30 to pick it up after my class at 3:45 pm. So I had a friend end up buying me lunch during class break at called to cancel my order at 3:10 pm (assuming that they haven't made my food since it's still a while until I pick up so I had time to cancel). Well whoever answered the phone, assuming the manager, told me that they had already made my food, mind you that I told them that I was going to pick it up at 3:45 PM, and that I can't cancel my order. I asked why my food was cooked so early & not closer to the time that I said I's pick up it up & whoever I was speaking with hung up in my face. HORRIBLE customer service! I will NEVER come back to this restaurant after being treated with disrespect. I value respect from people & establishments & that is NOT what I got here. This restaurant needs to take a class on manners and customer service because they definitely LACK in that area. I was telling my friends to go to this restaurant because they had good food but now I will tell them to go elsewhere where they'll get treated with respect! If I could give this place 0...
