Friendly staff...mostly. First of all, let me say that Cole at the front desk, was awesome! Great personality! In fact, the gentlemen I encountered during my stay were all nice. However, I came into the hotel yesterday and encountered a female who I hadn't seen before. Out of my peripheral, I could see her watching me as I perused the open snack wall for a candy bar and took it to the counter to make the purchase. As I stood there waiting for her to ring it up, she stared at her computer screen. I asked, "this is where I pay for it, right?" She said she was still logging in. She logged in and asked me for my room number. Hesitantly, I told her, but then asked if a room number was necessary to purchase a candy bar. She said she just needed to make sure...(longest pause ever)...(still waiting)...(mumbling)...(I stand there with arms folded tapping foot on floor)...uhhhmmm...mumbling about "you're registered at the hotel"? Then she stepped aside to go do something else, leaving me still waiting to purchase a freakin chocolate bar? To which I replied Never mind and made my way back to my room. When I left and came back later in the evening, I encountered a man at the front desk I hadn't seen before. No questions, very nice, simple transaction. I told him about the earlier incident and he said there was a new girl working there. Because of the superior service so far, I won't make anything of the incident. Also, there were kids running and jumping in the hotel late in the evening. I called down to the front desk and I believe they contacted the perpetrators (although it continued sporadically thereafter). The breakfast was nice. There were attendants on staff in the dining area who were very attentive. The spread included Texas shaped waffles, eggs (boiled and scrambled), sausage, tortillas, oatmeal, muffins, cereals, coffee, tea, milk, fruit, yogurt, pastries, fruit juice. The entire hotel was clean. There is an outdoor pool. It's in the middle of a shopping area, so good deal. So...
Read moreI was very happy with how both of our rooms were clean , it was spacious, just all around perfect. The only down fall which really disappointed was, I called the night before to speak to someone specifically to make sure they had a pool up and running I was informed it would be open, I even verified again considering I was take 5 boys to celebrate my kids birthday and all they wanted to do during the day was to swim in the hotel pool. Again the lady told me yes it will be open so I paid the deposit. I arrive to check in, paid my balance and then asked how do we get into the pool since we still had 5 hours before their party at top golf. The lady tells me “oh it’s closed today for maintenance “ I just seen the disappointment in my kids faces because this was literally what they were looking forward too. I explained to the lady this was literally the only reason we booked here was because we were told their pool was working , I tried to get my money back so that I could go find another hotel with a pool, but was told no refunds I asked if she could at least give me a discount for the inconvenience, because for that I could had gotten a cheaper room but my main concern was the kids having a pool. So apparently now it doesn’t even matter if you talk to them personally and they tell you it works, I promise 9/10 after driving 3.5 hours your going to get disappointed to find out it’s all of a sudden closed for the day. Then to top it off they had breakfast in the morning and we asked the front desk what time breakfast was over he told us 10:30, so it was 9:30 we went upstairs to wake up the boys and told them to go Down and get some breakfast before we hit the road , it was about 10:05 by the time they went only to find they had already put all the food away, all there was was cereal with no milk. On the door was a small sign that stated it was over at 10:00, but why did they tell us 10:30 am. Definitely probably won’t be booking with...
Read moreI don't usually write reviews but this is the second time we stay here and I waited until now to review because I wanted to make sure that my review was accurate.
First off let me start by saying customer service is exceptional, from the people at the front desk, to the housekeepers, to the breakfast cooks - they were all very friendly and accommodating even with my children who approached with numerous questions about waffles, the pool, towels and laundry room. Rooms are spacey and comfortable to sleep in, however if you are looking for a place to relax and stay in this might not be best for you as there is no view with beautiful trees and scenery which was no problem for us because we were out and about the whole time we were in San Anto. That being said - I believe it is budget friendly - it is not the least expensive but it is not the most expensive. I also love that we had shopping and restaurants all around us. I chose this hotel because it was half way to SeaWorld and half way to the River Walk and other attractions. The only thing I can say I was probably not too happy with was that I saw a few small stains on the wall near the bathroom trash bin and by the tub that I could not decide whether they were stains that could not be removed or if it was a previous guests' stain that didn't get cleaned up, I managed to not let my ocd kick in and ignore it, not like I was going to be in there for too long anyways . But other than that it was an overall GREAT stay and will most likely...
